Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shamerra P Saunders aka Queen Juicey Shake. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Queen Juicey Shake, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? We’d love to hear the backstory that illustrates how you grew your brand.
The scaling happened rather slowly. OMG! It took forever and then BOOM! a gush of fastness afterward. It was risk-taking at its highest stakes. Sure! Growing looks different for everyone. However, the pain from the process, all hurt the same. Uncomfortable and unfitting. Before the highs come all the lows. Growing pains come in a series of dosages. One after one they start to form. Standing in line like a gathering of children for recess. That’s when I knew something wonderful had to be peeking around the corner. The impact of being featured in Voyage ATL Magazine created a huge transition in my life and journey. A shift happened.
Honestly, it was straight sacrifice. This was a huge brutal sacrifice too. I am nothing without and everything because of this sturdiness. This is about to get real deep. Make sure to grab a seat, and not just any type of seat either. This deserves a cushion, that I’m unable to provide.
Queen Juicey Shake, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Where to start? Wow! Spiritually there was a calling in my life that I didn’t know much about. Year after year it would sneak up on me. As I grew the noise inside did too. Yet, I still went on to find a balance somehow without a gym mat. Two decades full of bitter and sweet pressure. From sacrifice to scaling up. In 2018 I weighed 262 lbs. And lost over 137 lbs. naturally within 1 year. Which I had on for over 20 years and have successfully managed for 4 years. No gym or surgeries. Creating a wellness organization Number 4 Fresh Blend Irish LLC., Registered trademark Juice and Shake inventor of Number 4 Fresh Blend. Irish ® 6,199,462 to help others rediscover themselves too. Creating motivational talks, shoes, sneakers, sauces, recipes, spoken word, open mic, poetry, art paintings, sculpturing palm art, and purses out of old jeans named after my ancestors. Beauty, Lip and skin products are all from mind to bare hands. Print modeling for various magazines, fashion shows, and artists. Published 8 books on Amazon, Lulu, and Barnes & Noble bookstores. Books including topics casting out negative spirits in your home or office, help with self-esteem, coaching, entrepreneurship, a women’s coloring and affirmation book, a mother and daughter positive affirmation and coloring book, a women planner and daily habits, a journey book, and now a traveling novel, Writing out the vision and leaving maps wherever I’ve been for the people. Traveling to the other side of the world on a mission without my children, to create a life for my children. Only to travel back to the other side of the world, to create a life with my children. It was difficult to struggle, protect, learn, fight, live, breathe, raise children alone, love, break generational curses and be the best mother. It was a red pill or a blue pill method on how to go about. Gliding into the spiritual journey was the best way to be guided through this tsunami of greatness.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Recently discovered a brain fart called BIF Borderline Intellectual Functioning. Yup! That’s me. Always would wonder, why had it hurt so much. It would mentally and emotionally hurt working for other people, being under other people’s pressure, and other people’s rat-racing mind formalities. Worked for people who didn’t even know themselves and I’m expected to be all I knew how to be for a dollar. My brain isn’t wired that way. I’ve walked backward my whole life, and found the beauty in it. however, being taught to walk forward like everyone else is what hurt the most. It all makes sense 40 years later.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creator is doing what I love and why I love it. Love helps keep my brain healthy and aligned properly to operate out in the world and within myself.
