Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shamel Solomon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Shamel, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
The biggest risk that I have ever taken was in 2009, a few months after I had my daughter. During my pregnancy, my doctor had already explained that there was a possibility that she would be born with Sickle Cell Disease and that it could be severe, but we would not know until she was born. She indeed tested positive at birth. The first few months of her living was very traumatic and life changing. I remember one occasion, she was admitted into the hospital and stayed there a very long time, so long to the point of my boss calling me and asking me if I wanted to quit or be fired. I worked for the State of Georgia at the time as a mental health social worker. I will never forget that question being asked to me as I sat beside my daughter in her hospital bed. I allowed them to fire me because I wasn’t in agreement with leaving my baby alone in the hospital. At this time, I knew Jesus but not like I do now, however I had peace with my decision. This decision led me into the business world of network marketing for 11 years full time. Over those 11 years, I have seen the hand of God’s provision take care of me and my children as I worked from home for myself. I thought network marketing would be my life forever, eventually I exited that arena into the life coaching arena, which is what I do full time now.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I grew my network marketing business via social media not knowing there was a bigger picture. The Lord had much bigger plans for me as it pertained to business. There was another level of serving that He wanted me to do for people and that was coaching. In 2019 I launched Next Level You Coaching. I provide biblical based strategies to help women gain wholeness, freedom, and clarity of their true identity. By doing so, women learn how to partner with Holy Spirit and overcome past and future obstacles. What sets me apart is my authenticity and transparency, my testing and overcoming in so many areas of life give me the ability to relate to many different facets of life. What am I most proud of? Whew, the fact that I have overcome so much and lived to see this day is what I am most proud of!!
Next Level You Coaching is a coaching establishment of the Holy Spirit, moving through those that are lost and those who are Christians; bringing the healing presence of the Holy Spirit into the inner place of pain, trauma, and brokenness within a wounded person. A coach and mentor aims to see you get better so you can help the “team” get better; meaning those that you are assigned to. I don’t just walk and coach individuals through inner healing, deliverance, and personal development……I equip them with tools to help them gain wholeness as well as tools to help the “next woman.” Our lives aren’t just about our own, there are people counting on us to overcome so they can overcome too. A domino effect of deliverers. My past personal experiences are one of my biggest tools that are used to help women overcome; this allows me to see through the lenses of others. It is my desire to raise up a world full of women who are overcomers, chain breakers, and battle axes.
A prophet called to the nations, I am solid in my calling and I approach my business and ministry assignments with a prophetic-apostolic anointing that I utilize to set the captives free. My edgy direct style, and boldness has given me leverage to tear down the wall of insecurity allowing people to relate, open up, and to be themselves without judgment. My genuine love for God will compel you, my radical faith will encourage you, and will motivate you to a place of freedom and victory.

Have you ever had to pivot?
In 2019 I got certified as a Personal Development Life Coach, I knew coaching was what the Lord wanted me to do. However upon starting my services, I noticed that 100% of all of my events and sessions ended up with something to do with inner healing and deliverance. The Lord said to me once “you are on the right track, but coaching to help hearts to heal is what I want you to do.” Once I understood the assignment, I made the proper adjustments by getting another certification as an inner healing and deliverance coach. I have a heart to help the Lord deliver, raise up, and equip broken women. I am called as a deliverer who raises up other deliverers. I would encourage all business owners or those in ministry to “turn” when the Lord says so and always trust that when He says “turn” it will always be in the right direction. It is important to have a team!! I am grateful for my intercessory team; Jessica Brooks, Debra Henson-Patterson, and Dianna Caifiero who have helped me run with the vision the Lord has given me and kept me covered in prayer.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Network marketing is what grew my platform, over the years I have always remained consistent in posting, however as I matured so did my audience. My phasing out of one business to another was fairly easy. My coaching business has served many who have never met me or ever heard of me but the way I show up on social media and word of mouth has proven me to be effective and called to do what I do. Your social media platform is your resume in the business and ministry world, how you show up on the internet is important. Not only that, how you show up on social media is exactly what people should get when they meet you offline. If you have to think about posting it on social media, don’t post it. Another thing that has helped me is knowing who I am, what I am called to do, what I want to be remembered as, and what representation I want to be for my children. Those questions help me to always show up the right way on social media, in public, and private. One other thing I always remember is what my mentor Prophet Jennifer Eivaz has always said “Be you and everyone else will adjust!” Being me has been the most freeing thing ever!!
