Hi Shamekia , thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I think it takes drive & determination to be become successful. You have to be both mentally & physically prepared to run a successful business. We’re living in a time where things change DAILY, especially fashion. You have to stay current on the news, celebrities, fashion trends.

My name is Shamekia Lafleur. I’m a wife, mom, & entrepreneur from Houston, Texas. I’m the proud owner of She’s Shady Accessoriezzz Where STYLE meets FASHION✨. We are an online accessories boutique catered to women’s fashion. I gravitated the industry because I had a love for fashion but I wanted to do it in an cost effective manner. I wanted to look amazing without breaking the bank in other words. I wanted to create a brand that included the things I loved & other women loved As well. & Well what women doesn’t love a great pair of sunglasses or a trendy handbag? As a online boutique we offer sunglasses, handbags, hats, & more. We also offer fashion tips & consultations. If I had to say what I’m the most proud of about my business It would be that we’re still here. Four & a half years later & She’s Shady Accessoriezzz is still successful. It’s sometimes hard to stay relevant in the ever-changing world of fashion but we make it work. Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

If I had to pick one thing that illustrates my resilience it would be by social media influence. My personal struggles seem to be with my business page. My page has been deleted over & over again without any reason. It’s hard to gain followers & an engaging audience only to have to loose them. Even though it’s frustrating & the process is a little stressful we keep starting over. No one talks about this part of entrepreneurship. No matter how much you get knocked down keep getting back up.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source of new clients for me is word of mouth. My clients have a way of wearing their items well. So when they step out they definitely turn heads. They have women from everywhere asking about their accessories. I always advise them to just send them to the website ‼️
