Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shameia Crawford. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Shameia , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

I have a few but the one that is really dear to my heart is my ‘MOMS Musical’. It was inspired by my experience as a first time mother. It is a Stage play that follows the journey of 4 women. A “Mom to be” who has dealt with Childhood trauma in her Mother-daughter relationship and seeks therapy and starts a Mom’s Support group that brings together 3 Mothers from different walks of life. The story Highlights the Journey of Motherhood, we get to see Pregnancy Cravings to Postpartum Depression . The production is a Blend of the Movies “For Colored Girls” & “Girls Trip.” We experience the Funny, and the Beauty of the Sisterhood that is formed between these women as they Grow &. Heal. We debuted the production in 2018 with no Influencers or Celebrities and sold out 2 shows. The Show will be back Mother’s Day weekend of 2023! It’s an amazing Show that I look forward to sharing with Moms everywhere!

Shameia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am Shameia Crawford, a Creative at heart! From my Sweet potato pie Business, SHAM PIES. To Writing, Acting and Singing!

Right now on the INTERNET I’m known mostly for being a singer! I started in Church as many great singers have. I call myself the JINGLE QUEEN because I turn everyday life into Songs! My claim to Viral Success began in 2020 when I grabbed a couple Amazon Boxes and started singing “Anybody else addicted to Amazon, Yalll Gone take all my money, I just got these boxes today, Now I’m back on that site looking for something, Y’all Got Everything!!” …..It Took off!

We were all on Lock Down because of the Pandemic and it was my TRUE LIFE story! Recently that song was released on October 28th as a ‘Sample’ by DEF JAM Artist by the name of SipTee. The label reached out about Clearing the Sample of my Voice on the Track. So that was amazing having come straight from an internet moment. Many other Musicians remixed the song and just so happened that one of them created this opportunity.

Since that time, being a Social Media Influencer has been apart of my journey. However I write and record Jingles for all types of businesses from Marketing firms, Boutiques, Skin Care brands, and Restaurants. If you ever need one, email me so we can get people singing about your Business/Service.

SHAMEIA THE MUSICIAN. I am a Musician to my Core, with a degree in Classical Voice, I love to create REAL MUSIC! With Music I also teach YOUTH how to write and create music using their Life experiences with my program ‘I’M IT’. It’s Music Therapy Workshop and at the end of the program the students have a Tangible reminder of where they have been and where they are going.

SHAMEIA THE ACTRESS. I love Acting! Having performed with Bernadette Stanis, and many others in the Black Theater world as they call THE CHITLIN CIRCUIT. I Made my first Big Screen debut in 2021 as the Juke Joint singer in a the Movie “Charming the Hearts of Men” starring Kelsey Grammar. It was a great experience. Here in Atlanta I’ve portray Natalie Cole, and performed for a series called THE BLUES SERIES back in September at THE APEX Museum and recently got Cast for THE BLACK NATIVITY with shows starting in December. I’m excited to be back in motion on the local scene. I have used the Pandemic to produce my own Streaming Stage called SOUND & WAV that highlights Soul Artists and Spoken word artists which my Media Company–Drofwarc Media produces. SHAMEIA THE BAKER. I started making Sweet Potato pies in College. My grandma gave me a lot of recipes and those pies were something I loved to eat so making them came Second nature. I decided to start Selling them and that started my Business SHAM PIES. The ELDERS look at me and don’t believe that I made them myself lol! My Grandma taught me well! I accept orders year round. We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Social Media is one of those things you Hate to Love! On one end it’s a Resource and a Pick Me Up but then it’s a Distraction and a Source of Comparison and Self Sabotage. It’s all about having a plan and doing your best and forgetting the rest! I know there’s Strategies but things change ALL The Time! So you really have to be emotionally detached enough not to get your feelings hurt.

My advice to grow is to not be afraid of recording WHO YOU ARE! I used being “Shy” as my defense against growing in communication. It was a Fear of learning to Express with others and Share MY perspective! Since letting my guard down Chile I’m on the internet with no Makeup on, and had a Skin Mask on during a Live and of course showing my Silly Side with Singing funny Tweets and Reactions to internet things. It doesn’t feel like a HASSLE and keeps me from procrastinating because I didn’t ‘Beat’ my face or have the perfect background. Whenever there is a Problem there’s always an alternative Solution! Just be determined to get it done !!

But Authenticity will always win! And Consistency. Those 2 things really matter and if you can always find yourself doing those you’re destined to grow your audience!

Podcasts are really good these days. You can listen on repeat without the EXCUSES of NOT HAVING ENOUGH TIME to Read to learn something! David Shans podcast SLEEP IS FOR SUCKERS is a great resource, he has really great Guests. Myron Golden on Youtube, he is amazing! Joyce Myer Books, Inspirational Quote Cards are great. I have a couple Sets that I keep around the house.
