We recently connected with Shakira Huglon and have shared our conversation below.
Shakira , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
THEDOLLBLVD’S mission is to be creative with the latest fashion. Our main mission is to get an actual boulevard named after the business, to keep it creative, & alive. The logic that this would work was when i first believed in myself, it all starts with you. The idea that has me excited about the boulevard is the main mission, & the creative photoshoots we have planned. Emotions runs through the roof sometimes, lol. Sadness, happiness, doubt, but everything will be worth it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
About myself, my name is Shakira. I am 21 years old, i started off making cosmetics at 17 years old. But, as time passed i realized i wanted to do what i really wanted to do, & that was fashion. I always grew up taking photos, dressing up, being a fashion girl, and i always said i wanted to be someone. Discipline is what keeps me going, without discipline i wouldn’t be here still. The vision is very strong for the boulevard. What sets me apart from others is how i think. I’m most proud of how far i’ve came. I’m still surprised it’s been three years, lol. The journey is still continuing. The main thing i want potential clients/followers/fans to know, is that we appreciate them. Me, team & the boulevard.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
A time i took a risk, was when i was involved in a house fire, and products was located inside aswell. Gaining courage, i went and collected what needed to be gave to my customers, with no damage. I will do anything to keep customers satisfied, they keep the business going & they play a part. Without customers, no boulevard. That’s why i’m grateful for who supports us, whether it’s a like. sale. WOM, etc. I felt overwhelmed, in denial, but with God, no worries. I always pray to the most high.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
I use shopify for the business. I started with shopify, and it’s wonderful i feel everyone should use shopify. It has alot of features, different things to install & just overall good for online sales.
