Shakeena, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Showing clients you appreciate them is something I think most folks want to do – but it’s not always clear how to do it in a meaningful way. What’s one of the best examples of client appreciation you can share with us?

Some of the things I’ve done to show a client that I appreciate them are the following;

-Delivering on my promises doesn’t only mean getting results. It also means following up, and arriving at any scheduled meetings/appointments/ and or calls on time. I have learned that the more you prove you’re a person of your word and integrity, the more your client will be able to trust you with their business. I prefer to approach my clients with a personable and yet professional approach. Each client deserves to be handled with care and that need may vary from the next. This requires a level of attention to detail.

-I offer free consults so that I am able to understand and meet the needs of my clients.
-I give hand written and email thank you notes
-I give gift certificates and coupons
-If I make a mistake, I make sure I own up to it and make it right if I can.
-I always share their testimonials and reviews on social media
-I give away Mindful Signings and Notary business swag
-I adapt to their work flows and special needs if need be
-I ask for feedback
-I make sure I promote their businesses, attend and support their events
-I provide my clients with valuable resources

This is just a few things that I do to show my appreciation to my clients. This makes them feel valued and also creates a great rapport. This has also created space for my current clients to refer me to other potential clients.

​My name is Shakeena Benjamin, I am CEO & Owner of Mindful Signings and Notary. I am a Loan Signing Agent, Notary Public, HR professional, Workforce Development and Career Coach. I provide mobile notary, loan signing, and workforce development services in Wake County, NC and the surrounding areas.

I travel throughout the state of NC contingent on the capacity of the signing/coaching services. I am diligent, pay close attention to detail, and know that customer service is a priority in this industry! I prefer to be personable and mindful with my clients because each case/or situation is different and should be handled with care.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source of new clients for me really has been “word of mouth”. I have met some of the most amazing people. Sometimes I get referrals from people that I have never worked with or even met. My client sources have come from other signing companies, social media, google, family, friends, business relationships, and more. Developing those relationships have created my clientele in different ways. You never know who you will come across and what they may take back with them. This is why it is so important to be able to put myself in a space of optimism and to really have a passion of being a useful vessel to my community.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Without getting too personal, my journey of resilience has been quite the humbling experience. I have learned many things on my journey and my work life balance. I’m a mother, veteran, employee, entrepreneur, HR professional, adjutant of a disabled veteran chapter, daughter, sister, niece, auntie, etc. As you can see I wear alot of hats on this journey and life can really “LIFE”. However, my resiliency is one of my biggest flexes. I am always determined to bounce back and never allow my failures or challenges to cloud my vision for greatness ahead. Instead I use those failures or challenges as a tool for learning, growing, and being the best version of myself because there is no “giving up”!
