Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shaina Godfrey. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Shaina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
I grew up in central Oklahoma, so that’s a big part of how Heartland Esthetician came to be! Her name showcases me and my roots in a form of a passion that I derive for skincare that truly comes from my heart.

Shaina , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was at a dead end after high school and was never truly interested in following the mainstream path of college. I pursued becoming a veterinarian technician because of my love for animals for awhile, but then felt unfulfilled. I took time to reflect on what I truly wanted to do with a career. One day, my mom suggested I look into pursuing Esthetics, and I had no idea what that was at the time. So I did and I excelled at it. I loved school and graduated valedictorian! That accomplishment still makes me smile! I was fresh out of school and landed an amazing first job as a new esthetician in a med spa! I was patient and finally began taking clients. I was hooked on the feeling of enabling my clients to feel relaxed and confident in their own skin. I loved guiding people on their personal skincare journey. Learning more and more knowledge about the skincare industry, different lines as well as private label hands in experience, new techniques, spa etiquette was a big one. Basically, I was molded to a high standard on what to bring to my clients. There was so much creative freedom and I’m forever grateful for that experience, but then a new life experience as a military spouse! Fast forward to a new state, new job and a different, but wonderful new European spa vibe experience in more body mud wraps, different “clean” line and more focused in the art of beauty and luxury rather than results driven. But wait, new life experience as a mother and esthetician AND military spouse! I gain more experience, techniques, tricks of the trade, cloudy management and lifetime spa soul sisters. My drive was to always keep learning, because in an industry that changes so often, it can feel overwhelming but so worth it. Fast forward three years, one deployment and another baby on the way, and we got the opportunity to come HOME and set our roots. I began more spa experience as well as hands on with another private label as well as my current line Osmosis Skincare! I found the active ingredients to be so gentle yet effective and just hadn’t found anything like it at the time. Burnt out and motherhood was in full bloom I maintained with my foot in the door but enjoyed those last firsts as a mom. Then esthetics opened it’s door for me 3 years later and I walked through it but i was already unmoldable craving that creative freedom and then that’s when Heartland Esthetician llc was born in September of 2022! By far the scariest, best decision ever, and I’m blessed beyond my wildest dreams! Now I bring all of my experience and creativity to my clients and what you can achieve in all your skincare concerns and goals. I am looking to earn more certifications to treat acne clients, utilize innovative machines that deliver targeted goals to the skin’s overall benefit, more skincare lines, more continuous education, incorporating my love of yoga into my career passion, and just keep reaching for the stars! I’m very proud of myself for imagining one day to have something that I could have and call “mine” and here I am living that opportunity as gracefully as i can navigate. I feel like I bring a sense of personal care to my facial treatments and deliver results driven skincare and the knowledge to educate clients. I feel more strong and confident in what I have to offer because it’s all a blank canvas to paint, and there’s a happiness in that freedom in that for me!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Definitely word of mouth!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
For being personal and wanting what’s best for the clientele’s skin. Delivering a form of touch to enhance and elevate the person laying in a heated bed to relax and to enjoy the skincare journey too!
