Shaikh , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
I have been interested in technology since childhood. Whenever something new came in technology, I was fond of learning it. I remember that I was in 5th grade, so my parents got me a computer. The computer was a very new experience for me, so I did all the computer courses. Then I got interested in hardware, like how a computer works, how to make it, and what materials are needed to make a computer, so I took information about all this. But until now, I had not thought of making such tech-related videos. Then a few years passed, and a bad time came into the lives of all of us. That was when the Corona lockdown started. There was nothing to do; I was watching movies and series like everyone else. Then I thought that I had knowledge of technology. Why not tell people about technology through this? Then I started making tech videos. I uploaded the first video on YouTube on April 19, 2020.

Shaikh , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Shaikh Afraaz, the name of my YouTube channel is Shaikh Afraaz, and the name of my Instagram page is @sk.afraaz. I am from Aurangabad, Maharashtra. I did my schooling in a private English school in Aurangabad and did my B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from P.E.S. College of Engineering, Aurangabad. After completing my B.Tech., I switched into IT as a data engineer. After that, I started my career as a tech influencer in 2020. I make videos on technology like gadget unboxing videos, review videos, tips and tricks, and many more, and today we have more than 600k+ followers on social media platforms.And we proudly say that we are the number 1 tech creator in Aurangabad.And today we are working with multi-national brands from all over the world.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Certainly! Building an audience on social media is a journey that requires patience, consistency, and authenticity. Here’s some of my experience and knowledge, along with some advice for those just starting out:
1. “Define Your Niche”: Identify your area of expertise or interest. What are you passionate about? What do you want to share with the world? Having a clear niche will help you target your content to the right audience.
2. Create compelling content: content is king on social media. Whether it’s informative, entertaining, or inspiring, make sure your content adds value to your audience’s lives. Experiment with different formats like videos, images, text, and infographics to see what resonates best with your audience.
3. **Be Consistent**: Consistency is key to building a loyal audience. Develop a posting schedule and stick to it. Whether it’s daily, weekly, or bi-weekly, make sure you’re regularly engaging with your audience and providing them with fresh content.
4. Engage with Your Audience: Social media is all about building relationships. Respond to comments, messages, and mentions promptly. Ask questions, start conversations, and show genuine interest in your audience’s thoughts and opinions.
5. Use hashtags strategically: hashtags are a powerful tool for increasing the reach of your posts. Research relevant hashtags in your niche and include them in your posts to make them discoverable to a wider audience.
6. Collaborate with Others: Collaborating with other creators or influencers in your niche can help you tap into their audience and gain exposure. Look for opportunities to collaborate on content, cross-promote each other’s profiles, or participate in joint ventures.
7. Optimize Your Profiles: Make sure your social media profiles are complete and optimized for search. Use keywords related to your niche in your bio and include a link to your website or other social profiles to drive traffic.
8. Track Your Progress: Keep an eye on your analytics to see what’s working and what’s not. Pay attention to metrics like engagement, reach, and follower growth, and use this data to refine your strategy over time.
9. Stay authentic: Finally, stay true to yourself and your brand. Authenticity is what will ultimately attract and retain your audience. Be genuine, transparent, and honest in your interactions, and let your personality shine through in your content.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When I started my career as a tech influencer, I did not have any equipment—no good camera, no tripod, and no microphone—but I did not give up. I kept an open mind and made a tripod with some tricks by attaching a selfie stick to a water pipe. And I started making videos with the camera of my mid-range phone. As we grew further, we started getting some brand sponsorships, our YouTube channel became monetized, and our earnings started. Then, whatever money we earned from the videos, we kept investing in the equipment for the videos. By doing this, gradually all the equipment came, and then we opened an office and studio, hired staff, and so on.
