Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shadow Banshee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Shadow, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.

My name is Shadow and I was born a misfit. I can tell a story from every year of my life that left me an example of someone who is not the social norm. While a child that never belonged to a social circle of peers, I have however learned to become socially adaptable and mostly socially accepted in my adult life.

My biggest example of this is my extensive work history with corporate america. I have always felt like a square peg setting myself up into a round hole but I made it work, for over 30 years; and I always told myself that someday I would retire to become an oddities curating Palm Gypsy. Having those kind of occupations is not exactly an industry standard nor does it have anything to do with my extensive 30 year experience in corporate america.

Shadow, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

With much insight on how I wanted to continue my life’s journey, I decided to finally be my truer self and took the plunge for a complete change of career. I went from Mary the corporate yahoo to Shadow the Palm Gypsy. This all happened in March of 2023. But that is just when I became more of a public staple. My truer self was recognized much earlier in life.

I learned from a early age that I had come from three generations of intuitives. I really didn’t know what that meant per say, other than it made sense as to why I (as well as my family) seemed like the weirdos of the neighborhood. Remember the Munsters? Yeah, sort of like that. I have always been BIG into horror movies and the fantasy of them, as well as the reality it DOES in fact perceive. Thus, this had given me the passion to learn about this intuition I might also carry. I researched as much as I could from the library but the material available seemed rather slim and I didn’t get very far on my own regard. So, I had a little help from a dream that I had at 14 years of age.

“I was in an attic of beautiful, antique free standing mirrors. People would come into this room looking rather lost. I would approach them, converse with them, and help them choose a mirror to pass through. One day, an exceptionally lost person entered the room. They needed much attention to their situation and I was there to help them in every step of the way. We had spent much time together and I got to know them very closely. Then, as they had chosen their mirror to go through, they had asked me if I could join them to which I had to say ‘No I cannot’ because I am to stay in this room to help others.”

This dream was profound. Not only because it gave me a clear vision as to my purpose, but it also harnessed my mystic abilities. I had FINALLY understood my intuitive skill set and I was ready to do something cool with it.

I had a friend with me and I learned to be a “lucky charm” through her with my abilities. I would think about how I could help her and then do a little meditation ritual to bring the help she needed. This was highly effective and is what I did for years for many people. BUT I kept it a secret. It only made me more of a “weirdo” in the eyes of society and I had already struggled enough with acceptance as a young person. And with that, I joined corporate america and ignored my abilities.

Every now and then I would get a whisper to remind me of who I really am. But I continued to go on without exercising my skills until COVID came and turned us all upside down. During that time I had reflected on what I was doing as I would hear of so many people suffering and mortality unknown with this pandemic. At that point, I knew I needed to have a more fulfilling and purposeful life while I was still blessed to have my life. Thus, I felt the calling to connect and help others through Palmistry. I read many many books and read the hands of friends and family for a year before going public. It felt so natural and so right.

I started my public appearance at events throughout Arizona. Then I had someone reach out to me from a little new Metaphysical shop in Tucson called Four of Wands. There I met the rest of the crew and it felt like I was home. Here I am with fellow peers who all have interesting journeys as well as all with the struggle of fitting in with these exceptional gifts.

Once I became a staple here at Four of Wands, I quit the corporate life. It was scary as well as extremely satisfying. One thing I have learned through my lifelong experience is that you have to be true to yourself. You have to at the very least like and be comfortable in your profession. Otherwise, the stress and anxiety will eat you alive.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I am very passionate about what I do. My sole purpose is to help others. As long as you are genuine in your efforts, you WILL succeed. How you are with your market, in your genuine form, will build your reputation organically. It is just that simple.

I absolutely LOVE people and I LOVE hearing about their journey ahead after I read their palm. I always give out my contact information and ask my clients to keep in touch. I feel that not only does that keep your client connection, but it also opens up “word of mouth” opportunities; which I find personally the BEST way to get known.
