We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Shadice Greenup a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shadice, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I’ve always had a big imagination. Growing up I was immersed in the world of cartoons/anime, movies, video games, and all sorts of narrative media. It’s had such an influence on me and since childhood I’ve created stories, but now I know, without a doubt, I really want to tell stories.
My current project, The Consequence of Gods (aka TCOG), is what I consider my most meaningful. It’s the amalgamation of things I love, art-wise, and a testament to what I’ve accomplished, how far I’ve grown from adolescence to now.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a 3D animator and singer, working on my own independent project, The Consequence of Gods. It’s a fantasy narrative, that includes 4 stories exploring the personal journeys of the protagonists. It’s being created as a 3D animated series and audio drama. Production technically started in 2014, I’ve learned a lot since then and I’m proud of where this project is at now.
Although this is independent and I handle the bulk of producing, writing, animating, and putting things together, I am being helped tremendously by my team of artists, voice actors, script editors, and my producer. This wouldn’t be possible without them, and also the other 3D artists who have created assets, models, programs, and plug-ins that allow me to create the world of TCOG.
I’m creating the first chapter of TCOG, Eastwynne. There are a few animated scenes released and audio drama episodes. Eastwynne is the beginning of the story, so it’s a bit slower-paced and laid-back compared to its sequels. It introduces you to the characters and the world, you get to see where they started from, a slice of their lives. It also features some original music sung by dee.svg (aka me).
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
The best way to support artists is to give them opportunities to shine. Even without monetary support, sharing their work, highlighting them, and expressing how their art makes you feel goes such a long way.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Seeing a project completed and the reactions from others is indescribable. All the work you put in has paid off and you’ve grown during the whole process. It’s a very impactful feeling and it stays with you.

Although I have put things together, set things up, and made edits, these scenes were created using character and architectural assets made by other super-skilled 3D artists.
