Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shadé Pasquier. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Shadé, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Three years ago, I couldn’t have imagined standing here as a professional actress. I used to believe actors needed formal training in a conservatory school or something like that. When the pandemic hit, I felt the need to find my inner child again, and my grandmother reminded me of my childhood love for theater. Following her advice, I immersed myself in learning from coaches worldwide, including the legendary John Strasberg, who, I will never forget, told me to never give up. Within my first year of acting, my coach at the time thought I was ready to start my acting career and suggested me to an agent.
My journey into professional acting truly began when I stepped onto the set of “Larry,” a TV show directed by Patrice Sauvé. It felt like a moment of déjà vu; I instantly knew that acting was my calling. Establishing my identity in the acting world has been a rollercoaster ride, with its share of highs and lows. But it was my mentor, Patricia Chica, who truly guided me along the way. Discovering her “law of 3-3-3” method accelerated my growth beyond what I thought possible. Now, as I reflect on my journey, I’m grateful for the unexpected twists that brought me here and the belief in myself that keeps me moving forward.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I aspire to embody my true self so profoundly that my audience is captivated by nothing but the truth. As creators in this industry, we are entrusted with the sacred duty of storytelling. My mission is to honor the essence of each project’s vision and breathe life into every character. It is indeed a profound honor for me to immerse myself in this artistic journey and be part of a contribution that aligns harmoniously with my life’s purpose. Ultimately, the most creative act is the act of creating yourself. Meaning, I am actively participating in crafting and evolving my own identity and life path, and that’s something that drives me to keep going.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist, for me, is the ability to connect with people on a deep and emotional level through my work. Creating something that resonates with others, evokes feelings, or sparks meaningful conversations brings immense fulfillment. Additionally, witnessing the impact my art has on individuals, whether it inspires them, comforts them, or encourages them to see the world from a different perspective, is truly gratifying.
