Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shadé Bell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Shadé thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
A few ppl brought me art supplies during a time I was low on funds.

Shadé, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into painting by using it as an outlet while grieving. I got into the industry by connecting with my community. Being apart of group art shows, hosting popup galleries and workshops, collaborations, volunteering, etc. I provide clients with artwork that not only starts a conversation while evoking specific emotions.
My work sets me apart from others because no can tell a life changing story as colorful as I can on canvas.
I’m most proud of inspiring my community and being able to touch people by sharing my stories.
I want my clients and future clients to know that I appreciate the support!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lesson unlearned: That art wasn’t about the money. Backstory: Trying to survive on art alone just starting out, can be extremely challenging if you’re educated on how to manage your work and contracts.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is that I see my whole life as a perfectly-imperfect master piece. Hope that’s not too vague lol. I enjoy making my everyday experience creative when I can. From the hair to the clothes to the playlist. Everything is curated for me.
