We recently connected with Shadab Tajwar and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Shadab, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
When I first got into photography, I was just a freshman in high school. I had been in numerous photo clubs and as well the Student Media Team, so starting a photography business was pretty natural.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’m a photographer based out of NYC, also servicing Long Island and New Jersey by request. I do portrait sessions, events, car photography, some video work, and weddings and real estate by special request. My job is to fill all my clients’ photo needs. Whether that’s headshots for a company, coverage for a special event, model/dancer/actor portfolios, or a casual photo shoot with a significant other, my job is to cover anything you need. My photography style is different from others due to my focus on specific elements, my editing style, as well as on-site experience, everything is made simple for the client. I believe my versatility helps as well. The work I’m most proud of is that I’ve recently started doing more artistic works through concert and street photography. People can always stay up to date on my various projects through Instagram.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When the pandemic hit, I had been stuck in my house for almost 6 months. During that time, my client base had shrunk and almost disappeared. Since then, I’ve had to build a new client base from scratch, and it has even presented me with new opportunities like real estate photography, car photography, and even some video work.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My end goal is for more people to see my work. A lot of my creative works are pieces that I’m proud of. When someone prints and hangs up one of my photos, or uses it as a desktop wallpaper, etc, I feel proud, like my work means something. It’s a great affirmation to remind me why I do it.
