We recently connected with Shackisha Clark and have shared our conversation below.
Shackisha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today?
If I were to start over, things would be extremely different today. As a tax practitioner and licensed insurance advisor, I would have started my entrepreneurial journey at 18 years of age. When you are an adolescent, it is much easier to retain knowledge & be enthusiastic about learning new things. With the knowledge, I retained over the past 5 years I could have probably retained that same knowledge within one year as an adolescent. I would have been more enthusiastic about fundraisers, saving personal money, & investing funds. However, I have no regrets. Everything happens when it is supposed to at the perfect timing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
At L.T.P. we are committed to educating our clients on the unavoidable importance of accurate tax accounting, and other financial responsibilities, & to assisting our clients in taking the necessary steps to achieve their financial goals and other future financial obligations. Our vision is to have our clients choose us as their partner to assist in the achievement of their tax & financial goals for a lifetime.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for L.T.P. is social media. 90% of my clients came from social media, 5% from referrals, & the other 5% due to face to face networking. Social media is one of the most effective ways to build relevancy in your business. In my field of finances, I utilize social media to be informative to show people what I know which helps to gain clients who respect the knowledge being brought to them. I also use social media to be a source of motivation & inspiration for people in general.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Although I don’t have thousands of followers on social media & i do lack support in all honesty, I do gain clients & referrals from the clients I do have. I do this by posting at least one post almost every day. It is recommended that if you want to build your social media presence you post at least three times daily whether it’s a story or news feed post; you must post something. When posting post one inspirational, informative, & lifestyle post each day. This will help to build followers who are potential clients for you. You want to also keep your captions engaging. Make sure your pictures are vivid and lively. This has helped me tremendously. Social media catches much bad judgement, but I look at it as a good thing. Everyone should utilize social media in their business.
