We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Seyeong Ji a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Seyeong, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is taking a photo shoot for the sight of people’s backs in their daily lives. I love to take photos on days, like a landscape based on every day, a day around natural moments, or cinematic moods on the streets. Also, my photos include almost one storytelling for a moment of people’s every day. I love to harmonize between art and life, closer to the meaning of the word for time in people’s lives. Therefore, the title of those projects was “Did you know that a moment of your back in a day was recorded like the cinematic moment in the movie for me?”
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I provide to include based on personal stories or emotional themes in the artworks. It would be a postcard based on photographs or include personal stories. I love to create something and imagine what I can connect between daily life and cinematic moods. Also, I hope to communicate with others about the vibe they feel or how to think about it based on their life or characteristics. I want to bring out someone’s emotions when they watch my work or meet with me. One of my most proud things would be unlimited imagination. Most themes of my project would be to bring out emotions like nostalgia, imagination, or personal stories. I think that finding the meaning of life is one of my best friends forever.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Now, I’m almost understanding of NFTs, and I think it can be one of the keys to communication between our daily life and social life on the internet in the future. I understood NFTs for my friend’s project on business. When i heard about NFT communication, i was confused about knowing the worth of someone’s work and whether it is available to become worthy for our life. However, people have found the possibilities for NFTs for a long time, and we must remember that today’s life is harmonized between real and imagination. I’m interested in looking at business views for NFTs.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
When I work on my art, I am constantly reminded of the meaning of the word “love.” I work based on the personal story of love or someone’s experiences with love. I don’t ordain meaning for love based on human relationships. In my life, it is the meaning -of love that I look around, daily life, and lots of emotion. If i have to say what is your particular goal for your work, i can say, “I hope to remind you what is the meaning of the word “love” in your life, your language, and your personal stories for my audiences. It can look like real love or not far. However, there is no limitation or rule in love.
