We recently connected with Seth Cohen and have shared our conversation below.
Seth, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
In a former life, I worked in politics and activism, focused on addressing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution—which I believe to be the most significant societal challenge of our time. Over the years, it became painfully clear to me that our government, on both sides, was never going to take proactive steps to prepare for the seismic shifts ahead. That realization left me at a crossroads.
But stepping away from the public sector didn’t mean stepping away from the mission. If anything, it clarified my path. I wanted to help society adapt and reimagine itself in a world that was changing at an unprecedented pace. The question was: how?
That’s when Quantum Impact was born. We’re an AI consultancy dedicated to small businesses—the backbone of our communities, yet the ones most vulnerable to disruption. The ‘digital revolution’ rewrote the rules of commerce, and small businesses bore the brunt of that change. Now, as AI reshapes industries at lightning speed, the same pattern is repeating—but this time, the stakes are even higher.
Most AI consultancies focus on large enterprises, leaving smaller businesses without a roadmap. We saw an urgent need to bridge that gap. From the corner store to the neighborhood service provider, these businesses deserve access to AI solutions that are practical, affordable, and human-centered.
At Quantum Impact, we believe AI shouldn’t be an exclusive tool for industry giants—it should be an equalizer. Our mission is to make AI accessible and actionable for small businesses, helping them adapt, grow, and thrive with confidence in the face of change. Because when they succeed, our communities do too.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Seth, the founder of Quantum Impact, an AI consultancy dedicated to helping small businesses navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape. My journey into this field has been anything but conventional. I started in media and entertainment, earning one of the first-ever Emmy nominations for a web series, producing a well-received Super Bowl commercial, and optioning social impact-based projects to major studios. However, I became increasingly frustrated by Hollywood’s tendency to talk a good game about ‘social impact’ without truly walking the walk.
This frustration led me into politics and activism—first through the lens of media, creating projects centered around pressing social issues, and then fully immersing myself by founding nonprofits and political organizations. I helped raise millions of dollars for allied causes and produced large-scale, boots-on-the-ground activations to drive tangible change.
Despite these efforts, it became clear to me that the government was never going to take proactive steps to prepare for the seismic shifts ahead. If real change was going to happen, it needed to come from outside the system.
That’s when I turned to technology and AI—forces that are reshaping our world faster than any policy or regulation can keep up with. I saw a widening gap between those who had access to AI-driven solutions and those who were being left behind. While most AI consultancies were focusing on large corporations, I saw an urgent need to equip small businesses—the backbone of our economy—with the tools they need to thrive in this new era.
At Quantum Impact, we make AI accessible, practical, and affordable for small and mid-sized businesses. Our services span AI strategy consulting, process automation, customer engagement solutions, marketing enhancement, and more. We don’t just offer technology—we provide a roadmap for businesses to integrate AI in a way that makes sense for them. Our approach is hands-on, human-centered, and tailored to the unique needs of each client.
What sets us apart is our mission-driven philosophy. We don’t believe AI should be reserved for tech giants; it should be a tool for empowerment across industries. We work with businesses that might not otherwise have access to cutting-edge solutions, ensuring they can compete, grow, and sustain themselves in a rapidly changing world.
Beyond Quantum Impact, I’m deeply interested in the intersection of AI, consciousness, and philosophy. I explore these ideas in my writing, speaking engagements, and ongoing research. My belief is that AI isn’t just a technological shift—it’s a societal and existential one, and understanding it requires looking at the bigger picture.
For those new to me and my work, I’d want them to know that Quantum Impact isn’t just another consultancy—it’s a movement toward a more inclusive and adaptable future. We believe that the power of AI should be in everyone’s hands, not just a privileged few. Whether you’re a small business owner, a thought leader, or simply someone curious about what’s next, we’re here to guide you through this new frontier with clarity, integrity, and a focus on real-world impact.
Have you ever had to pivot?
It was after the 2020 election, right in the middle of COVID, that I realized I had reached my limit with politics. We all know how toxic the left-right divide is, but what many don’t see is how tribal and cutthroat it can be even among those who are supposedly on the same team. At that point, I had spent a significant portion of my adult life trying to “save the world” and felt like I had failed.
It had been years since I worked in media, and I knew I couldn’t stay in politics any longer. So what now? What’s next? What the heck am I supposed to do with the rest of my life? It was a tough moment—one where I had to pivot not just my career, but my entire sense of purpose.
The breakthrough came when I stepped back and asked myself: What had I actually been doing all along? My interest was never strictly in Hollywood or politics—it was always about helping society heal and adapt in a world that was shifting faster than people could keep up with. My mission didn’t have to change, just my focus and industry.
Based on my firsthand experience of the digital revolution, I saw the writing on the wall—AI was going to bring similar chaos, and once again, small businesses, the backbone of our communities, would be the most vulnerable. A few months later, without a traditional tech background, I founded Quantum Impact, an AI consultancy built to empower the very businesses most at risk of being left behind.
It was the hardest but best pivot I’ve ever made.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Human interaction in any form.
I believe this is true for all businesses, but it’s especially relevant in the technology and AI space, where the general public often approaches our products with a mix of curiosity and fear. People aren’t just skeptical—they’re overwhelmed. AI is advancing at a pace that can feel intimidating, and many business owners are unsure of where they fit into this new landscape. That’s why direct, personal interaction is the most effective way to build trust and demystify AI.
Traditional marketing channels are losing their effectiveness. Social media is an endless stream of content and advertisements, and cold emails arrive in bulk only to be ignored or deleted. People are tuning out, exhausted by the sheer volume of digital noise. What they truly crave is real human connection—an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations where they feel heard and understood.
That’s why human-centered approaches, like in-person events, digital seminars, networking opportunities, and referrals, continue to be the most powerful drivers of new business. Whether it’s through a conversation at an industry conference, a webinar where people can ask questions in real-time, or a client who shares their experience with a friend, these interactions create trust and establish relationships that no marketing funnel can replicate.
In an era where automation and AI are transforming the way we work, the irony is that human connection is more valuable than ever. People don’t just want to be sold a service; they want to feel confident in the decisions they’re making. The best way to help them do that is to show up, engage, and meet them where they are.
