We recently connected with Setara Monzon and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Setara thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
I’ve learned the best way to scale up is consistency. The more consistent you are with sharing and expanding your knowledge brings collaboration with like minds that help you grow your areas of interest and in some cases help you grow more as a person.
Setara , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
If you have the interest and want to learn the information is everywhere. Anything I couldn’t learn myself online I took workshops for or good old trial and error can be the best teacher.
Now I’m able to create art and jewelry that go hand in hand inspired by nature’s beauty. I offer 14k gold crystal jewelry and resin geode art to adorn your body and home. I’m also trying my hand at large art pieces and furniture like resin crystal tables and light up geodes.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
My best source of new clients has been through social media groups. With social media people from all over are able to see a full catalog of your work and share with friends that may be interested. I’ve been able to connect with some amazing business owners and entrepreneurs who love my work and sell or display them in their businesses. You never know who is watching your work and becoming inspired if not a new client!
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
I’m fortunate enough to do what I love full time. I’m able to focus on creating, learning and expanding. Collaboration is also important, it’s good to get outside of yourself and create new possibilities for all involved.
Some of my greatest moments are 5 magazine publications, which would not have been possible without some very talented collaborators. Another top moment for me was when Gangsta Boo wore one of my necklaces in her music video, I was always a huge fan and that was unreal to meet her let alone see her wearing my jewelry.
