Serena, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
Fortunately, I have been able to enjoy seeing hundreds of patients reverse diabetes, improve arthritis, cancer, thyroid autoimmune disease, lupus, psoriasis, fibroids and avoid surgeries. We observed Veterans Day recently so what comes to mind first is that. I recently came back in contact with a Veteran that I helped with improving his health over 10 years ago. At that time, I observed that he had symptoms of PTSD from the Gulf War. He was thankful and grateful at that time for my help but had not acted on getting help for the PTSD which was the driver of his health and relationship issues.
When we recently met, he explained with appropriate emotion and depth that he had gotten great assistance from a mental health professional who had proven to him that he not remembered everything he thought he knew to be true. She had shown him that his wounds could be healed if he could accept and find out for himself that things were not as bad a they seemed and that he had control over his healing. He did not have to be a victim. Because of the therapy he received at the VA for PTSD, and his willingness to explore and accept his responsibility and to accept the truth (instead of the version his mind conveniently created), he was able to heal and lose even more weight, control his blood sugar and not have further deterioration of his health. In fact his health and mental, emotional and spiritual well being had improved tremendously. This lead to him earning more money and getting a job that was much less stressful, and for him to have healthy and rewarding relationships with his children and spouse. The conversation with him brought tears of joy to my eyes, because I knew from how far he had come to now be able experience joy.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
The most important experience in helping people to revise their lives and lifestyles has been my own experience. I had my own experience with autoimmune health issues for years and then was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The most helpful experience for me has been my own experience as a patient. I was shocked at how long it took for everything to start opening back up during the pandemic. Fear and lack of evidence of anything caused everyone to shut down and for fear to take over everything. Much of it seemed irrational. Many people died because of this. I was grateful that within both sides of my family, we have a couple of doctors. We were able to rationalize with our family and help them to rationalize staying healthy and making it through that rough patch.
I made it through too, my way. Despite all of the challenges and people telling me I had to do it their way. I did it my way and thrived.
My spiritual practices and belief in self and a higher power strengthened and provided endurance and grounding. For people to get well, they must have motivation or drive within themselves. There must be a willingness to follow the direction and messages from the body.
I feel that I am a guide. People are typically getting messages that they are ignoring or not listening to. Our bodies know the way.
Our current offering is a program called BeU2Fullness for weight liberation
