We recently connected with Serena Ogden and have shared our conversation below.
Serena, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today The more we talk about good leadership the more we think good leadership practices will spread and so we’d love for you to tell us a story about the best boss you’ve had and what they were like or what they did that was so great?
I have had many managers and leaders, but Joe Jennings stands out as a wonderful example of a guiding mentor. He fosters an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas during brainstorming sessions. His wealth of experience has greatly contributed to my professional and personal growth. Joe promotes a culture of transparency and is always approachable, making it easy to discuss any challenges. I am extremely grateful for his mentorship.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started in 2019 working for a Wellness Clinic as a helper and translator as a part-time employee. I had my last child graduating in 2020 and decided once he went off to college, I would do something to help women.
I was exasperated from working full-time for someone else’s business while managing my studio on the side – it wasn’t until 2020 that I decided to take it further and dedicate more time to my small business. I started to go full force on learning everything about body contouring spa services, procedures, legalities, and everything about how to properly non-invasive body contouring services that help people jumpstart a healthier lifestyle and contour the way they want to without the cost and risk of surgery. Everything I do is non-invasive, safe, and natural.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I handled everything on my own. From crafting the business plan to securing funding, I took full responsibility for every aspect of the process. This experience taught me valuable lessons in independence and self-reliance as I navigated the challenges of starting my business.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I stayed authentic. Be true to your brand and voice. Authenticity builds trust and attracts followers.I was patient, because building an audience takes time. I focus on quality interactions rather than just numbers. I tried different types of content to see what resonates. I wasn’t afraid to pivot based on feedback and results.
By staying dedicated and adaptable, anyone can successfully build their social media presence.
