We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Septimius The Great a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Septimius, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Being a music artist, actor and model – was all created by taking risk. Risk meaning I had no knowledge or experience but has a feeling/passion to be a creative.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
About 12 years ago – Septimius The Great was created from a personal re-evaluation of myself after a relationship breakup. This is when I have decided to become a music artist which has open the doors for me in other industries such as TV/Film, Fashion and Entertainment. Septimius The Great is now a brand that stands for Music, Acting, Fashion and entertainment. The problem with a multi-faceted brand is that you must be able to give each the attention it deserves (bad/good) by prioritizing and multi-tasking. There are a few proud moments thus far: such as my Grammy Award for collaboration the collaboration for Best Reggae Album, my music being featured on Empire tv show and the Rich Kids of Beverly Hills tv show along with my appearance and performance on America’s Got Talent. Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to become a EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) winner which will give me experience and accomplishments in order to open my own entertainment firm that specializes in uplifting and connecting up & coming creatives to reach their dream of being a true creative.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
What is most rewarding to me as an artist or creative is: After creating a brand or creation and presenting it to the world, it is the best feeling when you get love for your creation but even better if you get an eyebrow raise from the world because that don’t understand it. Then after seeing, hearing or witnessing your creation, I turn those raised eyebrows into smiles.
