We were lucky to catch up with Selma Kihal recently and have shared our conversation below.

Selma, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?

Before becoming the guide and sound healer that I am, I was determined to become a professional singer/artist. I have been singing since the age of 5 and spent most of my young adult years pursuing a musical path, thinking that I had to follow the typical industry path to enjoy a creative life and career. I have also always been very sensitive to energies and interested by the spiritual/ wellness world.
In 2020, a series of very difficult personal situations made me sink in a very heavy depressive/anxious state. I was very difficult to manage on my own, so I started seeking tools and external support. That is how I stumbled upon yoga and meditation. My own personal practice blended with my artistry making me the guide and sound healer that I am today.

Many moments have defined and continue defining my offering and practice. My professional life is profoundly connected to my personal growth. One cannot be without the other.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Selma is a meditation guide, doula, reiki practitioner, intuitive
energy worker, and sound healer. Through inner journeys,
storytelling, mantras, music, and sounds, she assists others in
discovering their inner treasures and finding peace.
With 22 years of musical and vocal experience, Selma has been
singing since the age of 5. Consistently meditating for several
years, she has witnessed the positive changes it has brought to
her internal and external life. This motivation has driven her to
delve deeper into her practice and help others achieve similar
transformations.
In addition to her musical and meditative pursuits, Selma is also
an adept reader. The various stories and books she has
consumed nourish her vibrant imagination, enabling her to create
the wonderful stories and journeys she guides her students
through.
The ability to blend her passions into one practice has brought
Selma immense joy, and she eagerly looks forward to sharing that
sentiment with everyone.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

What helped me build my notoriety is definitely my realness. I do not pretend to know any better than my students. I struggle as much as they do, I just have been honing my mindfulness skill for a longer period. I remain open and transparent, there is no hierarchy. We all learn from each other and grow together.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?

yes, a thousand times yes.

I am so happy and fulfilled. All sides of me are honoured. From my creative side to my humanitarian and social side. I am truly grateful to have taken the risk. I am grateful to have explored and created the offerings I guide today.
