We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Seline Solberg a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Seline , appreciate you joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Am I happier as a business owner? The answer is yes—but it’s a layered, thoughtful kind of yes. Owning a business brings a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment that’s hard to replicate in a traditional job. But, like any meaningful journey, it comes with moments of doubt.
I remember one specific evening that brought this question into sharp focus. It was late, and I was at my desk, juggling a particularly tricky situation—a delayed shipment and a frustrated client who needed answers. My to-do list felt endless, and I caught myself wondering, Wouldn’t it be easier to have a regular job where I could just leave work at the office?
The thought lingered as I stared at my computer, imagining the simplicity of a steady paycheck, set hours, and the ability to fully “clock out.” But as I sat there, I realized something profound: while the challenges of being a business owner are intense, so is the sense of ownership and pride. Every problem I solve is a step toward building something that reflects my values, my vision, and my hard work.
I thought about the impact I’m making—not just in my own life, but in the lives of my customers and team members. And I thought about the freedom I have to shape my own future, even if that freedom sometimes comes with late nights and hard decisions.
By the time I wrapped up that night, I had my answer. For me, the rewards of owning a business far outweigh the struggles. It’s not always easy, but the growth, purpose, and sense of accomplishment make it all worthwhile.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m the CEO of Voltique, a premium electrical equipment company specializing in solutions for data centers and Bitcoin mining operations. My journey into this industry began when I identified a gap: plenty of low-cost providers existed, but many lacked the quality service, transparency, and reliability that customers deserve.
At Voltique, we provide top-notch transformers, custom-made PDUs, cables, Bitcoin miners, and hosting solutions. We solve problems like ensuring clients have the right equipment, helping them avoid unreliable suppliers, and providing professional hosting for hassle-free operations.
What sets us apart is our commitment to quality and exceptional customer service. We don’t just sell products—we offer a premium, seamless experience that gives our clients peace of mind.
I’m most proud of the trust our clients place in us and the relationships we’ve built by consistently delivering on our promises. For anyone considering Voltique, I want you to know that we stand for reliability, transparency, and unparalleled service in an industry that truly needs it.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In my first year of business, I made only one sale. That was an incredibly tough time. There were many days when I questioned everything—whether I was in the right industry, whether I was capable, and whether I should just give up.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Early on, I thought simply working hard and waiting for results would eventually pay off. But during my first year in business, when I made just one sale, I realized that time isn’t enough. I had to be intentional about learning, adapting, and stepping out of my comfort zone. I had to ask hard questions: Am I focusing on the right things? Am I connecting with the right people? Am I willing to take risks and try new strategies, even if they scare me?
Unlearning the idea that time equals progress was a turning point. It taught me that success comes from purposeful action, not just waiting things out. Now, I focus on being proactive, innovative, and open to change. That shift made all the difference, and it’s a mindset I carry with me every day.
