We were lucky to catch up with Selina Fox recently and have shared our conversation below.
Selina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Growing up in Southern California, my earliest memories are filled with the scent of mesquite wood and our homemade barbecue sauce. My parents owned seven barbecue restaurants—a livelihood built on fierce integrity and relentless dedication. From an early age, I watched them pour every ounce of themselves into their work, not because it was easy, but because they believed in doing things the right way, no matter how many hours it took.
My mother, especially, left an indelible mark on me. Before the restaurants, she was a single mom who worked like her life depended on it—because in many ways, it did. She hustled in every direction: marketing for chiropractor groups, doing body composition testing for bodybuilders, diving into multi-level marketing, and eventually rising into the top 2% of working women through business coaching. She was fearless in pursuit, always the first to arrive and the last to leave, pushing herself past every conceivable boundary to ensure I had a shot at something better. She never waited for permission. If there was no path forward, she carved one out.
Both of my parents shared the same uncompromising belief: there is no such thing as impossible. When the world said “no,” they asked “how.” When others folded under pressure, they rose. They never let hardship harden them or success soften them. They taught me—without ever saying it out loud—that grit isn’t just about perseverance. It’s about character.
That’s what I carry with me every day: their unshakable belief in finding a way forward. In business and in life, when I’ve faced down challenges that seemed insurmountable, I remember the woman who built empires with a strawberry blond haired toddler as her sidekick , and the man who came into my life that taught me to run headfirst into the unknown.
I am, in every way, a product of their unbreakable dedication and integrity.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My story doesn’t start in a clinic or a hospital room—it starts in the quiet, relentless search for answers no one else could give me.
Back in 2015, my health was slipping through my fingers. No doctor, no supplement, no protocol had the answer. I was a single mom, exhausted, working long hours, but determined to figure out what was wrong with me. By that point in time I had become the heaviest I had ever been at 272lbs. I’m only 5’4″ tall, so you could imagine that was a lot of weight to suddenly be carrying with no answers as to why I was gaining weight. In 2017, my world cracked open—I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, stage 3 with a 4.3cm tumor on my right lobe. And just like that, the world told me to sit down, take the radiation, live on medication for the rest of my life and hope for the best.
But something inside me said no.
I don’t judge anyone who takes the traditional path—I understand that choice. But for me, that wasn’t an option. I knew there had to be another way, and I was willing to find it, even if I had to walk that path alone.
So I researched like my life depended on it—because it did.
Juice cleanses, every supplement imaginable, every diet under the sun—I tried it all. Eventually, I found relief in a keto-style animal based diet, which brought tremendous improvements. I discovered what supplements helps in addition to my animal based diet, I did frequency therapy treatments… and I knew I had found a key to healing. In June of 2021 I had a second biopsy done and everything came back non-cancerous! In fact, my doctors called my cancer reversal “miraculous.” Still, I had a 4.3 cm tumor, so in 2021 I chose to undergo a hemi-thyroidectomy.
6 weeks after my surgery life had surprise in store for me, at 38 years old, I found out I was pregnant with my second child.
Life didn’t slow down—it intensified. I gave birth to my second son in 2022. after about a year and a half after his birth, I started to notice some similar symtoms showing back up. I getting exhauseted all the time, my hair started to get thin again so I went back in for some testing In 2024, that’s when I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. Another setback. Another opportunity. I dug deeper. And that’s when I discovered the truth—the clarity and power of the carnivore lifestyle.
By October 2024, I was all in.
The changes were profound. For the first time in my life, my energy, my body, and my mind aligned. I felt vibrant, strong, sovereign. And I knew I couldn’t keep this to myself.
That’s how I was lead to my business.
Today, I’m a carnivore lifestyle coach, here to helping others reclaim their power, heal from within, and become unstoppable forces in their own lives. I look to work with individuals who have been dismissed by the system, those who are tired of “managing” symptoms and are ready to reverse them.
What sets my work apart is simple: I lived it. I beat cancer. I reversed an autoimmune condition. I transformed my body. I’ve done more research than most professionals I’ve met, and I’m still learning, still refining, still rising.
What I’m most proud of isn’t the 112lbs I lost or the diagnoses I defied—it’s knowing that I can help someone get their life back. It’s knowing I can help those to find strength they forgot they had.
What I offer is not about food. It’s about freedom. Radical self-responsibility. Deep healing. And becoming the version of yourself you were always meant to be.
So if you’re at the edge of yourself, tired of the guesswork and the gaslighting, know this: there is another way. And I’m proof.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Start With Why by Simon Sinek, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill,The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason, Becoming Supernatural by Joe Dispenza, the four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If you asked me whether I’d do it all over again—the pain, the uncertainty, the fight—I wouldn’t hesitate.
Yes. A thousand times, yes.
Because this path, as brutal and beautiful as it has been, gave me something I never would’ve found otherwise: the purpose to help people, and through my transformation, I found this—this profession, this mission, this sacred work of guiding others back to their own power.
Coaching wasn’t a career I stumbled into. It was a calling forged through fire. Every hardship I faced became a roadmap for someone else. Every “no” I heard from the world turned into a “yes” I could offer someone who felt unseen, unheard, and dismissed.
If I had to go back—through the fear, through the surgery, through the self-doubt—I would.
Because today, I have something to give back to the world.
