We recently connected with Selena Lightfoot and have shared our conversation below.
Selena, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
How did I start? I quit my job last year to be an full time entrepreneur with my business, but I started to realize music was something to do as well with my modeling career. I started to freestyle from my anger, I realized I had more potential than to just do my business and model. I eventually started to learn my own techniques as far as recording and taking my own pictures. Being your own photographer is really the best it’s like you’re your own hype buddy you get to do your own research and find apps to take pictures and edit them which will eventually become a new income source. YouTube really is one of my favorite helpers really my number 1 tool. As far as music I began to pushed myself forward if I can write a verse I can write an hook “Never Let Go” was my first single I ever recorded and wrote. I wrote the song back in February and released it in April a little after my birthday, because it was my first time recording I decided I would like to finish the song off I then released an extended version of the song in May doing that song really made me realize I still have the voice I did as a child just a little bit better. I write what I go through and had decided I also wanted to do a remix of the song “Never Let Go” I dropped that version in August 16 dedicated to my late grandmother, and the birthday of my father “Gotta keep Going” was written in November and was recorded and dropped in July I learned how to start recording and producing, it became fun to me I had the idea of why not keep going only because I found myself in music.

Selena, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m from Union City, Ga I started modeling in 2019. I started my business in 2020. I was placed in the Miss Jetset competition 2022 unfortunately I only made it to quarterfinals. After the competition I decided to pursue more in my music career. My music is based on hiphop and r&b genre. I write how I feel to express my feelings and pain. Since I’m in my young 20’s my audience can relate to my music. What I think set me apart from others is me being different I’m not just an artist or an model and modeling is more than just getting in front of a camera and taking pictures it’s also setting an example for the people older and younger than me. I’m also a public speaker I speak unto the youth to help make this generation grow and be better. I’m most proud of the accomplishments I made this year when I didn’t win the competition I just didn’t say “ okay Ill end it there” but I decided to use my other gifts and put my hard work unto other things I’ve dropped music most of the year and are working on projects for my business , music , and modeling for the upcoming year. Like I said before through everything I’ve been through this year I’ve still kept climbing and going through all my obstacles. What I want the people to know about me is I’m different, unique I may be named Selena but there is a difference I have a dream to create my reality and to help others elevate their mind to create theirs and it will prosper.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Neville Goddard has imapacted my thinking and philosophy, and also my Bishop he teaches off of Neville Goddard word. I grew up based on using your imagination and elevating your consciousness. My business has already succeed and my career has already expanded its called the law of assumption. Assuming your wants and desires are already met through your imagination or mind.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
One thing I feel like non creatives will not understand is me quitting my 9-5 to fulfill my career path. I can admit it first it did hurt my pockets but God sends you other income sources to help them and also put you in certain places. What I’ve learned is money is not what makes the world go around it’s our mindsets that do. I have a conscious that I am money and because of that money flows to me in different ways some people until this day will never understand why I did what I did, but I’ll just let my elevations do the talking.
