We recently connected with Sejal Patel and have shared our conversation below.
Sejal, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
Success to me is maintaining focus on your goals. Once you set your goals, it becomes easier to overcome them by focusing on that “next” step that will get you closer to achieving your goal.
Cultivate good habits and make most of the finite amount of time we all have in a day. Personally, making a small change and waking up earlier has proven, they are my most productive hours. My willpower is at its peak, leading to better decisions and sets a positive tone to my day.
I also believe in surrounding yourself with people you admire and who see your value and remind you of it. Once we do this, we become a better version of ourselves and success will follow.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was 14 years old when I moved to the United States with my family from India. My parents, as every immigrant does, had an American dream in this land of opportunities for my brother and me. I graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in Biology & Chemistry and furthered my education at Texas Woman’s University, where I pursued my Masters in Business Administration. Working for myself was always an end goal for me. Coming from a family of successful entrepreneurs, motivation was always around.
After I completed my MBA, I started looking for opportunities in the DFW area. I am a managing partner at Kids R Kids Learning Academies of Flower Mound & Keller. We are a privately owned educational facility caring for children ages six weeks to 12 years. In addition, I am also a photographer and Media/Marketing Manager for Fastcurries.com, a food blog mainly focused on preserving authentic heirloom recipes with an aim to help overcome the challenge of cooking healthy, homemade curries with ease. I manage this food blog with a dear friend Shilpa Tiku, a recipe developer for fastcurries and the real talent behind its success.
We’d love to hear about you met your business partner.
Shilpa & I met 12 years ago here in Dallas. We were introduced by a dear friend from college. While I am the face behind the camera, Shilpa truly is the talent and the mastermind behind fastcurries.com. She spends several hours creating, developing, and testing all of our recipes. Blogging is extremely time-consuming as well as challenging. Shilpa does a great job managing it all along with raising two beautiful daughters and managing a market research firm.
Our goal is to reach people around the globe through our recipes on fastcurries.com. We love hearing from our viewers, subscribers, and followers from around the world.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social Media is one of the main sources to connect with our audience in today’s world. Although it is rewarding to increase followers and subscribers, our goal is to build a relationship with our reader/viewer by creating content that keeps them connected to our channel or platform. Creating content regularly and more importantly a variety or different content is a must. We have also realized it is imparative for our viewers to know the real faces behind the cameras.
