Hi, I’m Sed Joseph aka Sed The Saint. I started StageWing™ to fill my own personal need as an active mobile DJ and to solve a source of anxiety that occurs for many DJs planning to perform at events both in or out of town.

My story began in 2017 when I was booked to DJ a wedding in Chicago. I decided to fly with my DJ controller but was required to check it instead of carrying it on the plane. When I arrived at my hotel, I noticed my luggage had been opened and inspected by TSA, resulting in a damaged power cord. Immediately, panic began to set in – I had only a few hours until rehearsal. I did not have my network of local DJs to call to bail me out, and the power cord was not easy to find at nearby popular electronics stores. After many online searches and phone calls, I finally got lucky and found a nearby “mom and pop” instrument store that sold a generic version of the exact cord I needed. Going through stressful moments like this led me to create a community of DJs and A/V companies who support each other with recommendations, industry strategies, and gear.

StageWing™ is the world’s first online sound, lighting, and DJ equipment rental platform. Our verified renters reserve their favorite brands wherever needed and equipment owners earn extra money. Best of all, we created a time-saving convenience for our members, no more waiting in line at rental shops. The gear can be reserved online and in most cases, delivered and set up for them at the gig venue. The first of its kind, we created StageWing™ to be a trusted community where our users come together in the spirit of collaboration, not competition.

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?

Yes, in addition to supporting the DJ community, we also provide equipment rental, and delivery for wedding planners, conference planners, television shows production crews and music video production crews.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

The amazing members in our community! They have tagged us on their social media sites, provided us with video testimonials and shared us with their friends and colleagues. We verify every single member within our community and I think that helps us ensure that we only have the most professional, trustworthy and collaborative DJs as members.
