We were lucky to catch up with Sebbastián Quiroga recently and have shared our conversation below.
Sebbastián, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I would have liked to start my artistic career earlier. Although I began to study art from a very young age, and later obtained my degree as a designer in visual communication, it was not until several years later that I made the decision to exhibit all my work to the public. While studying he had participated in some painting contests, with quite good results. But I had not yet made the decision to exercise my artistic vocation. After posting all my works on Instagram, I was pleasantly surprised to receive great support from the public and from other artists as well, which motivates me to keep going.
Sebbastián, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well, at first let’s say that I am a human being like the rest, who decided to follow his vocation as an artist. In my case as a visual artist. What inspires me to paint or draw is nature, people in the streets, art that other people make, all kinds of art, especially cinema. I just saw the latest film by Argentine director Andy Muschietti, and I loved the use of color as well as the emotionality of the plot. I would love to be able to participate with my art in movies, that is my dream. Right now I am dedicated to geometric abstraction, portraits and the female figure. But I feel a free spirit in terms of inspiration, which is why I permanently investigate other aesthetic styles. I really enjoy when they contact me to carry out an order, I love the contact with my fans. Over the time I have been posting on social media, I have been surprised to receive positive comments from people around the world and from different social strata. I feel proud that all kinds of people feel close to my work, to my art. Everyone is welcome to comment and contact me.Well, at first let’s say that I am a human being like the rest, who decided to follow his vocation as an artist. In my case as a visual artist. What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Sometimes It often happens in our modern societies that what is different gives us a feeling of strangeness and sometimes even fear. I believe that people with a creative vocation come with the mission of showing us different facets of ourselves as a society, and that allows us to be more aware of who we are, that the limits that surround us are not as solid as they appear. Creativity allows us to feel freer and more powerful as individuals, and as cohabitants within this planet.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
There are changes that are foreseeable in our world, such as the arrival of artificial intelligence, and all that that implies. The same goes for the nft, it’s one of those changes that had to happen. I think that the nft used well is a great advance, for example in the recognition of copyright. And as has been seen, it has generated a sales boom in the creative and artistic field. By the way, I hereby invite all art lovers to request their NFT collections by message or email.
