Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sean Wolfe. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sean, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with talking about how you serve the underserved, because in our view this is one of the most important things the small business community does for society – by serving those who the giant corporations ignore, small business helps create a more inclusive and just world for all of us.
I’ve been hosting a live weekly cooking show on Facebook for five years now, and on the last Sunday of each month, we hold an online charity auction. To date, we’ve raised over $56,000 for different charities. Some of my recipes are very unique and somewhat “crazy” sometimes, but sharing my love of cooking and food with others, while helping raise money for charities is my therapy.
Sean, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I literally started my show, “Cooking with Stupid” as a joke one day. I did a livestream and a lot of my friends enjoyed it, so we did another, and then another. I’ve always enjoyed entertaining people and cooking, so I thought, why not blend the two together! My mother is my inspiration for my love of cooking, and I think she’d be very proud of what I’ve accomplished so far, especially the amount of money we’ve raised for various charities. One of the things that sets me apart from other cooking streamers is my “Spinning Wheel of Doom”, where, should I mess up a recipe on our livestream, I spin the wheel and have to do whatever punishment it lands on.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Word of mouth! Posting memes non-stop and staying consistent with what works. In the beginning, we had no clue what we were doing, but once we got in a zone, we stuck with it. Just staying consistent and not giving up on your passion is the best advice I could give anyone trying to make a name for themselves in this crowded internet world!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Trying to not be like everyone else. Keeping myself focused on creating new and fresh ideas that will keep my audience coming back every week. But most importantly, keeping true to myself.
