We were lucky to catch up with Sean Patrick Bryan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Sean Patrick , thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
So I was featured on an episode of “Cops”(season 21 episode 12) and I had the opportunity to have the crew from cops ride with me in an attempt to get footage that they could use and put in an episode of cops.
I remember the excitement I felt of being selected to have the cameraman and sound guy ride with me. so then there’s pressure you’re working extra hard to try to get them footage that can be used so then you can see yourself on TV. After having them ride with me for about a month, we were able to record a segment that would later be used. I just remember the anticipation of knowing my episode was going to air and seeing myself on TV for the first time I knew that this was a passion that I would want to pursue this in the future..

Sean Patrick , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Honestly, I got into Acting on a whim. It was one of those mornings where I was retired from law-enforcement sitting in my living room and something was pushing me to attempt to get into the world of TV and movies. So at that moment, sitting on the couch watching the price is right I started to create a resume and find avenues of how I could get a Talent Agent to represent me to help me get into this new world.. I was realistic I didn’t have any expectations of getting any representation but I knew this was an avenue that I wanted to attempt to go down

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I feel like you’re alone in this industry but with a little bit of backing and Support. And that’s not a bad thing because it’s completely on you to sell yourself and to get yourself out there and recognized. You’re gonna do so many auditions and not hear anything and not get a call back and be told no no no but in the moment that you get that yes, it does give you the desire to keep pushing forward. It’s like playing a shitty round of golf but you make that one putt or have that one great shot that makes your entire day of golf that much better and worth it. makes you wanna play again next week.
That’s how this industry is. It’s on you to make it happen. It’s on you to put yourself out there and attempt to set yourself apart from everybody else.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I’m not very philosophical and you may learn that as you get to know me, but I do love movies. I have always been influenced by directors and movies that I can watch over and over again and never get tired of. Director’s like Tarantino Scorsese Spielberg Kubrick.
