We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Sean Nolte Jr. a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Sean, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Life is all about decisions, and most times we are unsure about which one to make; being intimidated about the fear of the unknown. It’s often that we are too worried about being wrong or right, even when the path is not clear. One must become comfortable with taking risks!
Shortly after college, I made the executive decision to join the United States Navy. At that moment in time, things in my life did not seem so clear. There were a lot of missing variables. I did not own a decent car, did not have much in my savings, barely making ends meat at the part time job I worked, and I was totally unsure of what I wanted to do in life. All I could do is take things one decision at a time, and allow the consequences of each decision to happen. In the terms of Sir Issac Newton (Newton’s Third Law of Physics), “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
Stepping in to the recruiters office, I began blindly signing documents. As he explained what each document’s purpose was, I was not listening. All I wanted was a steady job, steady pay, and a sense of purpose. Before I knew it, I was off to Boot Camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. Saying goodbye to my family was the hardest decision I ever had to make! Looking back in it now, it was the best decision. As it allowed me to grow and figure life out for myself! I took a risk and it payed off! This is just one instance of myself taking a risk, as I have taken risks my entire life! Life does not come with warnings or disclaimers, just know that risks are not always successful ones.

Sean, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
After 3 years into my Navy Service, I decided that the Navy is not the only thing I wanted to be recognized & known for. I wanted to showcase my talents and chase my dreams! So I began firefighting again in my spare time. I also love video games, so I began streaming and creating YouTube content! Lastly, I am a car guy and have a huge fascination with cars! The Navy has allowed me to purchase myself and nice vehicle, and build it to my liking. I now race that vehicle on tracks around the United States, attend car events, and I’m even sponsored by BRAUM Racing! This all came to be during my time in the Navy so far, the key was doing things on my own and finding myself!
In my spare time, I attend meeting for the Youth. Helping guide high school and college students on their path to their success. Ensuring that they are maintaining off the streets and out of trouble. As the area that I was raised and grew up in was not always the safest and easiest area.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Most of my life and along my journey, I have learned to keep pushing through adversity. Keeping my mind open and looking for any road to success, in the event that one door closes, there are many more open! Giving myself options through resilience, networking, and never accepting failure as an option! During my time in the Fire Department, I lost a valuable mentor in the line of duty on March, 11th 2017. During this time I was also juggling the start of my college undergraduate degree, and working a part time job to financially to support myself. After his death, it was then that I began networking with others. It was because of them that many doors have opened, I refused to take the easy road out and kept striving for my desired outcome. Even if that meant I had to become a jack-of-all-trades, and learn many things; expand my knowledge! It’s the day that you quit, that you fail. Never quit, never submit, as everyone is in charge of their own destiny!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
For me, it’s the future generations. It’s very rare in modern society to find young individuals that have a positive role model. Having the opportunity to go back to my hometown and speak to the youth, is a big driving force for me. Helping others (especially the youth generation) finding their own path to success, and helping others find their path, brings me happiness and satisfaction.
