We were lucky to catch up with Sean Mullins recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Sean thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
I just recently have gone full time freelance and running my own two businesses! I started my little company called Pensacola Vibes in 2015. I’ve always messed with photoshop and the adobe suite, but then I started dabbling with graphic design, web design, web coding, photography, and videography. I used all my knowledge and skills as the foundation for my company. I’ve designed everything and built everything myself which I’ve found is probably the most unique aspect of my company. My major milestones were just being recognized throughout the city of Pensacola and having my material shared on Facebook and Instagram.

Sean, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I touched on this in the previous question some.
I’ve tried my hardest at making my company very unique and not a cookie cutter “lifestyle” company. I absolutely despise companies that make their company look clean cut and too “nice.” I’m just happy and proud that I can display the city of Pensacola the best I can and give it the recognition it absolutely deserves.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
I’ve had a few near death experiences, but one of my favorite experiences was waiting for the US Navy Blue Angels to fly over the Pensacola Pier. I thought it was a great idea to swim halfway down the length of the pier to wait for them to flyby and record them with my GoPro. A big ol Blacktip Shark decided to swim a handful of laps around me while I waited for their return home from Pensacola. Fortunately I got a kickass video of them and left the water with all my fingers and toes!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
All the new technology that comes out for videography keeps on pushing me to try something new. Such as learning how to fly an FPV drone that can go inverted and fly at 90+ mph!
