We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sean McNanney. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sean below.
Sean , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
Showrooms, private client boutiques and residencies for the luxury market.
Shopping internationally has never been easier, trends do not last long as they are quickly absorbed by the market place and a unique shopping experience is getting harder and harder to find.
After having several shops in high traffic areas, I am happy with the path we have chosen, of popup shops, residencies in other like minded shops, opening up our studio to the public and our new showroom in the Interior Arts Building offers us time to work on new collections, provide a unique shopping experience for our customers and optimal surroundings for our product offerings.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Sean McNanney is a textile artist, designer and antiques dealer offering a line of hand combed cashmere blankets and apparal from his family’s herds of goats in Mongolia. Saved has expanded it’s offerings to textiles and wallpapers, with plans for carpets and furniture to offer our clients Saved’s POV on in the world of interiors.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth and print is not dead, our advertisments pay off

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
Our family in Mongolia raise cashmere goats, yak, camels and horses, we spin our own hand combed yarns and have both knitting and weaving workshops who we produce for Loro Piana, Hermes, Frette and Takashimaya.
I was lucky enough that my father fell in love with Nara, my stepmother, after their marriage is when I learned of the her family’s legacy and the magical world of her countries culture, at the time I was working at Ralph Lauren Home and saw what was missing in the market place and the possiblities for these rare fibers.
