Alright, Seãn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
It is my mission to expose people to the culture of cigars. Not just manufacturing brands and quality of the stick but, the history, the origin and the end user experience.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I have been a cigar lover and enthusiast for over 18 years. Since 2009, I have hosted numerous exclusive lifestyle events all over the Metro Atlanta area, ranging from professional sports team events to casual kickbacks as well as lavish affairs for diverse jet setters. With the launch of Cigar Conversations, I invite top executives, entrepreneurs, and influencers to share their stories, talk about their passions and enjoy great cigars. Beyond having compelling conversations with cigar lovers from all industries, I am equally passionate about utilizing the Cigar Conversations platform to introduce the unique back story of each cigar, providing insight to his viewer on cigars that they must give a try.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
My life’s work and my passions have taken many twists and turns and pivots. What I have learned is when you love what you do there is no such thing as failure. It may be not now or wait a while but passion creates a particular resilience that keeps you focused. I believe in having a growth mindset. With that, there is only opportunity to approve yourself and evolve. The Covid pandemic forced me to look at my platform and my mission to tell the stories of tobacco farmers, cigar blenders, and even end users from a more intimate perspective. It taught me that we all may be living in a moment in time but our experience and perspective at that moment is something that never was and will never be again.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn thinking that success looked the same for everyone. What one man believes is average another may see as amazing. That is why I love cigars. They are complex. What one person may enjoy about a stick based on the experience or the taste another may not enjoy that aspect as much. However, there the door is open to learning, understanding, and gaining insight about one another as brothers and sisters of the leaf. That being said, my story is my story, my passions are my passions and my success is defined by me and I have an opportunity to impart insight based on that reality.
