We recently connected with Scott Thompson and have shared our conversation below.

Scott, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

My dad told me something once that ill never forget. As a young kid the words didn’t mean much, but now that I am older I understand them to the fullest …and they are now words I live by…

He said “Son, you can be anything you’d like in this world, but you have to WANT IT more than any other person”.

Such a true statement.

I believe that DESIRE is the most powerful force in the universe. If you look at all the successful people on planet earth , you’d find the key to that success was thier hunger for what they wanted. I believe that to be successful in any category, you must thirst for it. ELON MUSK , KANYE WEST , BILLL GATES , MICHAEL JORDON… If you watch these people closely you can see it in their eyes.

Scott, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Since I was a kid I fell in love with creating things. To me it was the only thing Id ever wanted to do. As I grew up I had many jobs that I hated. I knew that I could never work a “traditional 9-5″…..it was soul sucking.

So, at 24 started my first business with my brother. A clothing brand named “The Saints Sinphony” . We made flashy rock and roll inspired tees , leather jackets and denim. Each piece was handcrafted by a group of artisans we had trained in our factory. For the next decade I got to travel the world selling millions of dollars in clothing. We had distributions all over the world. Working with tons of celebrities and even Designing alongside fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld, designing pieces for one of his collections.

We had a good run.

But in the pandemic our sales plummeted and we were forced to shut down our factory in San Diego CA.

After closing my factory I knew I had to get into a new field. I was burnt out and needed something fresh. I decided to launch a photography and film production company and try my hand in the film industry. I bought a drone and some camera equiptment and started freelancing.

After filming with a few Brands, executives would notice saw how much I understood about Brand building, SEO, building website and business building from my experience building my own brand. I eventually became head of marketing at one multimillion dollar company ,Overseeing the artisic direction of the company as well as doing all video and graphic design work myself. Some notable mentions were designing billboards all over the city, Product packaging , and magazine covers. While I helped that company I continue building my own new Brand “DREAMVISION” my new passion brand. DREAMVISION.MEDIA will be my new hub for my portfolio showcasing my commercial , narrative & drone film work. As well as photography. This website is live however is still a work in progress. How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

When I had to close my clothing factory it felt like the world had closed on me. It was my dream at the time and had been doing it for 10 years. And to top it off as I was closing my factory I got into a nasty car accident T boned on the drivers side that totaled the car and left me with a Nasty concussion . I could have died

After all this craziness happened I didn’t know what to do with my life …. I had to make a hard pivot and start a new industry at the bottom. Learning from kids half my age.

However in just a few years I have been able to get back on my feet and work huge commercials, CRAYOLA, TAYLOR MADE , SNOWFLAKE to mention a few big brands I have made commercials for.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My dream is to do what I love for a living , make amazing art, and get rich in the process. I will keep grinding till that happens
