We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Scott Prisco a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Scott , thanks for joining us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
One of the most impactful things my parents did was to instill in me, from an early age, the importance of believing in myself and pursuing what I want in life. They taught me that it’s okay to dream and that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to—as long as I’m willing to put in the work. I think many parents, often without realizing it, limit their children by encouraging them to be ‘realistic’ and to follow a stable, safe path. I feel this approach can constrain what people are capable of achieving. Growing up, my parents created a safe space for dreaming and made me believe that I could accomplish things others might consider unattainable or against the odds. These teachings have shaped a mindset in me that focuses not on if I will succeed, but when. This outlook has helped me persevere through difficult times and keep fighting for my goals in life.
Scott , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
I feel effective team management and maintaining high morale hinge on open communication, mutual respect, and fostering a sense of shared purpose. To keep morale high, I find it essential to recognize individual contributions and celebrate both small and large successes. Regular check-ins with team members—both as a group and individually help me identify challenges early and make my team members feel supported. In my company, I encourage open, honest communication as I feel it builds trust and allows everyone to voice their ideas and concerns, creating lasting relationships that hold space.
Furthermore, I find leading by example, showing empathy, and keeping a positive, solution-focused attitude inspires my team to follow suit, creating a work environment where others feel valued, motivated, and ready to give their best.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Raising capital is one of the most challenging aspects of entrepreneurship. In the early stages of a company, investors are often investing more in the founder than in the business itself. While having a strong plan and business model is essential, who you are as a person and your ability to build trust-based relationships can be even more critical at this stage. On my journey, I found early success securing the capital needed to launch my business from friends who believed in me, valued my relentless drive to succeed, and genuinely wanted to see me thrive
