SCOTT, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
A client that attended one of my fitness classes had decided that day she was going to end her life after leaving a Starbucks and something told her to go upstairs to the fitness studio and randomly take a class, and she told me that by hearing my words of positivity and motivation during my class it changed her mind about wanting to commit suicide. It gave her a sense of purpose & wanting to LIVE
SCOTT, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been an athlete and played many sports in high school and college my entire life. I moved to Los Angeles in 2002 and worked on college campuses as a consultant and then worked in the entertainment field for a few years before finding my true calling.by Working in the gym and fitness business. I started working at LA Fitness as a sales rep in 2007. Sales was not my thing so I decided to get my personal training CERT and once I did that I became a trainer at LA fitness and shortly after that moved on to open my own Private fitness training business and I also work at Barry’s Bootcamp, which is a boutique fitness studio that focuses on HIIT training.
I’ve been employed at Barrys for 14 years.
I really enjoy helping people feel good about themselves and improve their overall health and body. And also to boost their confidence.
I am very proud that I get to encourage ppl to live li get healthier life
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The Most effective strategy is lead by example and be a walking billboard. If you live a healthy and fit lifestyle, people are gonna notice that and want to train with you.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Take a genuine and sincere interest in people’s lives
