We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Scott Endersby . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Scott below.
Scott , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Creative work is very hard to build a business and brand around to start. However, with persistence and determination, it can be done. I am able to earn a living from my creative work but, it has been over time since 2005. It is a process of constant learning and growing. Clients have referred my business over the last 12 years allowing me to grow and expand. Referrals are always the best with both a financial piece but, an honor as a big compliment to my work and work ethic.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Scott Endersby. I was born and raised in Texas. I met my wife, Nicole while we were working at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. We have three boys: two of our boys have Autism. While, one has ADHD. We are what is called a “NeuroDivergent” or a Disability family.
In 2005, I was a Photographer for Walt Disney World. I had always had a interest in Photography growing up but, it was not until working at Disney that I had realized I could really make a living with my creative work. Before, it was a hobby of mine. My work did get recognized at Disney with some of the photos I had done for guests from my Management team. I knew I wanted more from my creative experience so, when I left Disney I focused on my photography growth.
Nicole and I left Disney and the Florida life to move to DFW, Texas: to be closer to family. In 2010, we decided to open up Endersby Photography now known as Endersby Productions. At first, I photographed mostly portrait style and a couple small weddings. The same year, I transitioned my creative work to Real Estate Photography. So many people thought that was an interesting choice to make. I had been following another Photographer in the field and I taught myself the editing and working style needed for Real Estate and Commercial work.
In 2019 – We took our giving back to the disability community up a notch to what our followers now know as our #EndersbysHeroes. We had started our giveback in 2013 with family photos in the Texas Bluebonnets for Autism Acceptance and Awareness.
We created our #EndersbysHeroes: which is creative composites that we transform individuals with disabilities and their siblings into their favorite Heroes. I had seen another photographer (Josh Rossi) do similar styles for kids battling cancer. I knew I needed to bring that to our Disability work. We did get noticed around the media outlets with this particular work. This allowed us to continue our mission for disabilities and terminal illness. Every time we have said that we think that we might be done with this giveback work, we get more questions for us to continue or our community asking how they can help us: whether through financially help or volunteering. It is a need that is out there and the mission seems to grow more when we think it might be completed, which to us we know our work is what we view as bigger than us. So much change for the disability community needs to be seen and respected. Inclusion is key.
Today, in 2022 – Thank you to all our amazing clients, Endersby Productions is still being able to provide photography and videography all around DFW. We specialize in Media for Commercial, Professional Headshots, Product, Food, Events, Senior Portraits and Family Photos. Without us being busy in our small business, we can not continue our impact mission through our #EndersbysHeroes work. We are about to embark on traveling outside of Texas soon for our mission work to bring across the states, helping other non-profits and our #EndersbysHeroes work. Also, our Heroes sponsors help us with everything we need. We can always have more sponsors, as our mission is still growing.
Between our #EndersbysHeroes mission with our small business, we also sponsor the media both photography and videography to nine other Disability Organizations across DFW, TX. We also volunteer with the Disability community. We keep ourselves busy with our small business and our giveback mission. We truly believe in helping how you can and where your heart is. Everyone can make a difference.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is knowing that my work can make an impact for someone else. Our #EndersbysHeroes has been featured through the Media since 2019. To see and hear the stories from our #EndersbysHeroes families of what these images mean to them, is everything to us. There are a lot of happy tears and also some sad to go along side it as well.
We previously lost a Hero this past year. Spidey Rylan Pruitt, defeated Cancer in his own way. His Hero photo was framed and situated near his casket for his memorial service. It is hard to put into words what this means on an impact scale to us personally. It is a very sad and tragic loss: his legacy is living on. His family started a non-profit geared towards cancer and is called “Rylan Strong Network.”

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey has turned into a huge mission of impact through our #EndersbysHeroes: this being for awareness, acceptance and to inspire other photographers and artists to go with their passion of work. For us, it is a big mission for Disability and Inclusion. It is near and dear to our hearts. Everyone can find what inspires them and should go with that inspiration, even if it takes a long time of work. There is no true strength without the struggles that you go through in the journey. You should go with missions that your heart is actually into or it will show in your work. Stay strong and continue to learn for growth. Also, always know your value and do not let others put a value to you.
