Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Scoota Santana. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Scoota, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
As a young child I’ve always had a keen eye for the arts. This both my mother and father acknowledged at a very young age, I’ve always been dramatic and they both strongly encouraged me to follow that career path. Music strongly influenced me but acting is my true passion. Since elementary I was encouraged to get each star role in our class plays. My mother ( Brenda ) is my biggest fan yet brutally honest at the same time. She saw my skill early but instilled in me there was no room for error. At age 11 years old I was enrolled in Breaking Into Hollywood Studio’s Acting Academy. This 6 Month program was held in the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan New York City, thousands of kids, teens and adults auditioned and only 150 people were chosen for the program. Being as though this is something my mother already knew I was very passionate about I continued and graduated the program which costed roughly $5000. At B.I.H Studios I was able to connect with many different people who I’ve exchanged great knowledge and lessons. With me being so young and my mother to actually investing into my career at such a young age. Was simply amazing! We lived very middle class on a fixed income and some way some how she made it happen. My parents did a great job making sure I was very versed in life and experiences. And still until this day they both are very supportive and encouraging.
Scoota, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Scoota Santana AKA The Business Man
Artist , Creative Director , Owner of The Santana Hookah Service
New Jersey native
But when I think about who I am, I’m that boy from around the way that was constantly feeding the community with new ideas. I’ve always felt it was my responsibility to represent myself and those who didn’t follow trends from a very young age. Every city has that god fearing, full of energy business savvy family guy. That’s me, that been me! From middle school I started off rapping and hosting my own yard sales making hundreds of dollars off of my aunts, grandmother and mothers old knickknacks, My hustle and longingness to not live a regular life stuck with. As a minor ive started roughly 2/3 businesses myself. Fully invested, creative directed and promoted myself. Hair In Flames , my hair extensions as well as The Pink Again Lip Scrub. Even though these businesses didn’t fulfill themselves and spill into my adult life these business taught me the business early in the game. So now when dealing with feature or shows or even hookah bookings I am well aquept. I AM WHAT THE STREETS NEED! Simply my style, my personality and my love for business and music is simply needed. I am currently in a space where i can actually see all of my accomplishment head on. I made it to Atlanta about two years ago and I’ve been on set of some major projects , received great bookings for some of our favorite artist and my business is still growing.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
At the moment the most rewarding aspect of my music career till this date is the fact i received a personal Instagram DM from The Game applauding me and my new single ” The Business Man “. With no label or management and im getting applauds from legends and actual rapper in the game without any major push. This shows two things one you never know who’s watching so with anything you do give it your all. Two not everyone need tha huge team behind them if your vibe is out there someone will vibe with it
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
This may sound odd but i know and i feel that I’m descant for greatness. I know that in my family i am the one that’s going take our family to the next level. I long to be the man of my family in all aspects. Doing this is to prove all the mistakes i made in life like dropping out of high school and hanging around the wrong crowds will be all worth it. Ill put my nieces and nephew in college
