We were lucky to catch up with Scooby Austin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Scooby, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I make beats so I decided on a name and came up with YoungAndGifted Records in 2023 and it stuck and my producer name is Scooby Austin it use to be ScoobySnackz but that name got hacked and no one has Scooby Austin and I love it been scooby austin since 2023 and will never change It because that’s what God choose
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
YoungAndGifted Records and for me, I’ve been making beats since 2017 but didn’t get serious until 2020 in 2021. I started seriously making beats in in 2022. I produced my friend Brii Alexandria her first album and he did pretty well too and then 2023. I dropped my first solo project with artist on it cause I’m a clean version of DJ Khaled is where God called me to be and I love it and ever since then I’ve been working with some amazing artist, singers rappers, etc. and I can’t wait to see where it grows and goes because I love what I do and I do what I love and I want to grow and producing and mixing for artist and writing awesome because I have one day wanna write more for artist too so those are some of my goals that I wanted to achieve for this producing and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here you are never too young or too old to achieve a goal of what you wanna do in life so go out and get it.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Well, the story I had to learn was my old name. I remembered it got hacked back in 2023 the summer and I remember that I had to change my name and I ended up changing it to Scooby Austin because that’s what God wanted me to do and I love it now because I have grown a lot and meant a lot of new artists in that timeframe and now that is 2026 and I can’t wait to see where it’s gonna go because you never know what might happen if God tells you to change and you have to listen because if you don’t, then you don’t know what’s going to happen you don’t know what’s going to be the outcome of the change so that’s part of the reason why I had kept the name Scooby Austin and it’s not gonna go anywhere because at the end of the day I have grown a lot and I have seen a lot within the last three years between my old name and my new name which my old name was ScoobySnackz but now that I got a new name, Scooby Austin I love it and I will never change that name because it’s been helping me grow and it’s been showing me a lot so I love it and I can’t wait to see what’s next
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
My favorite and best way of getting new clients for me is promoting yourself because you were never know who you reached if you don’t promote yourself on social media in person or at different events because you will meet a lot of new people daily and so that’s what I had to do was promote myself on social media in person and everywhere because at the end of the day somebody is going to be interested in what you do or somebody’s gonna like what you do so you just gotta get out there and let people hear what you do because you never know who you might reach or who might reach you so at the end of the day is good to promote yourself social media in person, etc. because that’s the way that you get your revenue and get more people supporting you or working with so that’s what I had to do was network and grow with different people and I love it and that’s what you also do is get out there and get your name out there so people can know who you are and Work with you and grow and help you succeed to outside of helping others succeed like for me as a music producer. I love it because I want to help other people, bro with my music beats and stuff that I do so that’s what you should do. Brii alexandria and Kendra Chanae are my fav artist I have worked with and they have helped me grow in producing because I been learning new things and I can’t wait to see the growth of what I been doing in music
