Savvy Beauty, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry.
At Savvy Beauty Academy, we are dedicated to empowering the next generation of beauty professionals through hands-on training, expert instruction, and a curriculum that evolves with the industry. As the beauty world continues to grow and innovate, we are seeing major trends that shape our programs and the skills our students need. Some of the biggest trends include the rise of clean beauty and sustainable practices, a growing demand for advanced skincare treatments like chemical services and electrical modalities, and the increasing influence of social media and personal branding in building a successful beauty career. Additionally, multicultural beauty and inclusive services are becoming essential as the industry embraces diversity. At Savvy Beauty Academy, we stay ahead of these trends to ensure our students are not only prepared—but truly future-ready.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We started our beauty school in 2021, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic — a time filled with uncertainty, challenges, and change. Opening a school during a global crisis was not easy, but we believed in our vision: to create a space where aspiring beauty professionals could receive top-tier education, real-world skills, and mentorship that would truly prepare them for the industry.
Fast forward to today — four years later — and our school is growing more than we could have imagined. We’ve built a strong community, expanded our programs, and, most importantly, watched so many of our students blossom into confident, skilled artists ready to chase their dreams.
What sets us apart is our commitment to quality education, supportive culture, and our incredible team. We’re not just teaching beauty — we’re building futures. We take pride in knowing each student personally, guiding them every step of the way, and creating an environment where they feel empowered, seen, and supported.
It hasn’t always been easy. From navigating health restrictions to managing resources and adapting to constant changes, we’ve had to stay flexible, creative, and determined. But through it all, we stayed focused on our mission and leaned on our amazing team — especially during the toughest days.
The biggest lesson we’ve learned is that passion, persistence, and people make all the difference. When you build something with heart, and surround yourself with a team that shares that same energy, you can get through anything.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
At Savvy Beauty Academy, effective team management and maintaining high morale are essential to creating a positive and productive learning environment. Leadership focuses on open communication, mutual respect, and recognizing individual strengths to ensure every team member feels valued and motivated. Regular team meetings, professional development opportunities, and acknowledgment of achievements help build a sense of community and shared purpose. By fostering a supportive culture and encouraging collaboration, the academy not only enhances staff satisfaction but also ensures that students receive the highest quality education and mentorship in the beauty industry.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being in the beauty industry and embracing creativity is the ability to transform and uplift others—both in appearance and confidence. Beauty professionals have the unique opportunity to make people feel empowered, valued, and beautiful, often helping clients express their individuality through hair, makeup, or skincare. The creative side of the industry allows for constant innovation, artistic expression, and personal growth. Whether it’s crafting a bold new look or mastering the latest trends, there’s a deep sense of fulfillment in using your skills to inspire confidence and bring joy to others.
