We were lucky to catch up with Savenah Libertiny recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Savenah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
SavvyJack Wear was truly just that, an idea. I never truly intended to have my own “brand”. I was on maternity leave after having my daughter. I thought it would be great to sew clothing for her. I kept going to Big Box stores, spending obscene about of money only for her to look like everyone else’s babies. I already had the basic skills for sewing, so making clothing was natural to me. After being asked about my daughters clothes by friends and family, they mentioned me starting selling them on Etsy Marketplace. Utilizing Etsy platform was foreign to me, so I was not sure how I would even begin. Once I posted a few items- one order turned into five orders, to over 10 orders within a few months. Time clearly wasn’t an opportunity… I credit my skillset in time management.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Savenah Libertiny, and I am a Tampa native. I started working in the retail industry at 17-years-old, working my way up at the brands I was with. My background was in operation management.
SavvyJack Wear is a childrens clothing brand with the main purpose of making kids look, and feel good in the clothes they are wearing. The prints and designs are fun and one of a kind. We have rompers, to leggings, to tops, to our new fave, the Flutter Romper. Items listed on website are made-to-order with current lead time of 2-3weeks. We range from sizes newborn to 5t, with a few items up to kids size 8.
All items are cut, sewn, and packaged by me. This is what I am most known for. I want my customers to know that their purchase isn’t manufactured by thousands of hands. I want them to feel connected to me, so for the time being, I do everything in-house. I take pride in what I do, and will always make sure product leaving is in tip top shape.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
The best way I keep in touch with my clients is through social media. I am a 100% believer in sharing real customers on my page. Not only does it build brand loyalty, but people want to see real consumers in the clothes. I could be missing the mark, but I try not to use influencers to spread the word about SavvyJack. It’s a risk that I have taken and it hasn’t proven me wrong yet! I also connect with my clients via DM’s. If you message me, I will always respond back. Its humanizing and I appreciate every message I receive! It keeps me going!

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Along with running my business, I am also a full-time mom, and manager of a Luxury Women’s brand. So, sometimes my work over exceeds my small business. There are times when I feel like giving up to pursue my career in retail, especially on the days where I dont see an abundance of orders come through. But I keep pushing, posting, and creating and all works out in the end!
