We recently connected with Savannah Orme and have shared our conversation below.
Savannah , appreciate you joining us today. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
This is such a great question. I truly feel like I owe so much to my parents, not only for the sacrifices they’ve made to provide me the best life and opportunities, but also for the values and morals they raised me with. I would not be the person I am today without them. The one thing I have always admired about the way my parents raised my siblings and me is allowing us the freedom of expression. As far back as I can remember my parents always allowed and encouraged me to explore my interests, luckily for them most of my interests included makeup, glitter and all things beauty. The encouragement and freedom they gave me shaped me into who I am today. Along with allowing me to freely grow into my own person, they taught me discipline, the value of hard work and to always stay true to myself. I’m beyond grateful to have been blessed with the most amazing parents who have supported me every step of the way.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
After I graduated from high school in 2016 I went straight to esthetics school to become a Master Esthetician. I fell in love with everything esthetics and knew within my first week of school this was exactly the industry I was meant to be a part of. After we did our first lash course I really wanted to dive deeper into the lash industry. I continued practicing on friends and family throughout the rest of my time in school. I was so excited when I started at my first lash salon to finally start working in the field and get my career going. It took me about 6 months before I decided to start my own business and it was the best decision I’ve made. I’m so proud of my journey and the lash artist I’ve become and plan on growing into. I pride myself in really listening to my clients wants and needs and tailor every set to each individual client. My main goal is to provide a welcoming, clean, comfortable environment for my clients and to give them the absolute best costumer service and of course, the lashes of their dreams. I’m so thankful to my clients and the relationships I’ve been able to build and I hope to meet many more amazing people as I continue to grow and expand.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I first started my business page while I was still in school and my best advice to anyone currently in school is to post as much of your journey as possible. I didn’t start taking my business page very seriously until I started at my first salon and I soon realized the best way to grow your following is consistency and a brand aesthetic. Posting regularly and adding as many relevant hashtags as possible is the best way to build a strong following and attract your desired clientele. Your target audience I’ve learned not only wants to see the services you provide, but they also love learning about you and your personal life and journey. I struggled in the beginning finding the balance between being professional while still remaining personable. With reels and tik toks becoming so popular and a great tool to quickly build a following, it also allows you to show more of your personality and allows your followers to connect with you in a different way. Social media is a great tool and learning to evolve with it will be a great way to keep your business/brand relevant.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I would say there are two ways I’ve built my clientele: building my instagram portfolio/following and referrals. Instagram has been such an amazing tool. We’re so lucky to live in a time where you don’t have to sit in the salon all day hoping for a walk in. Utilizing social media has brought me the most amazing clients who have also sent their friends and family to me. I’ve felt so grateful that within my first year of business I have a full clientele and am able to do what I love full time. I’ve reached a point where I have clients that have been with me since the beginning and I want to thank them so much for believing in me and their loyalty. Words can’t express how much it means to me. I wake up so excited to go to work and my clients are a huge part of that.
