We recently connected with Savannah Lambert and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Savannah, thanks for joining us today. What do you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry?
The corporatization of wedding photography has created a disconnect between what couples think they’re getting and what actually shows up—literally and figuratively. Big companies often operate under a volume-over-value model. They promise beautiful imagery and premium service but outsource the real work to freelancers who are underpaid, overbooked, and expected to deliver an elevated experience without the resources, relationship, or personal investment needed to truly serve clients well.
In this model, the client never really knows who is showing up on their wedding day, and the photographer often hasn’t had the chance to build trust, understand the couple’s vision, or establish rapport. The result? A watered-down experience and final gallery that may technically check boxes—but lacks connection, artistry, or care.
Clients are catching on. More and more, couples are choosing boutique businesses—small teams or individuals—because they want the person they book to be the person who shows up on the day, walks through the process with them, answers their questions, and delivers a final product that reflects personal attention and passion, not mass production.
Photographers like me wear many hats—not because we have to, but because we want to. We’re hands-on by design, and that intimacy translates into a genuinely elevated, intentional experience. And yes, that means charging rates that allow us to pay ourselves a living wage. We’ve done the work. We’ve earned the trust. And we deliver not just images, but legacy—while honoring our craft and our clients equally.

Savannah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi! I’m Savannah Lambert. Owner and lead creative behind Lamblight Photography, a faith-led, luxury adventure photography brand serving wild-hearted couples, families, and growing mothers across the U.S. and beyond. I specialize in cinematic, emotion-rich storytelling that honors both your love and the landscape—whether we’re hiking to a hidden canyon in Utah, capturing timeless vows in a remote national park, or creating heirloom-quality portraits in-studio.
I got into photography because I love people, and I believe the most sacred stories are often the ones we’re too busy to pause and honor. After relocating more than 1,800 miles from everything familiar and starting over in a brand-new state, God made it clear this business was His calling for me. I didn’t know anyone, but He opened doors. He brought the clients, the friendships, the creative partnerships, and the opportunities. And I haven’t looked back since.
At Lamblight, I do things differently. I don’t just show up to shoot—I show up to serve. I walk with my clients from the very first inquiry to the final gallery delivery. I help them plan elopements, source supporting vendors, coordinate across time zones, and build intentional timelines that prioritize both beauty and presence. I provide location scouting, backup plans, and real support—not corporate fluff. You get me. My eyes. My heart. My commitment to doing this with excellence. Every time.
What sets me apart is a mix of spirit, soul, and strategy. I blend faith, film-inspired artistry, and professionalism into every experience. My business is grounded in serving all people with love and respect, fueled by a mission to glorify God—not by preaching, but by reflecting His compassion and joy through my work. I don’t discriminate. I don’t pressure. I just show up and give you everything I have to offer, with integrity.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built through this work. Brides who become friends. Clients who tell me they felt the love of Jesus through how I served them. Teammates who trust me with their time and talents. And the privilege of capturing some of the most defining, intimate moments in people’s lives.
If you’re looking for a photographer who’s all in—who cares deeply, plans intentionally, and tells your story like it’s the only one that matters—I’d be honored to connect.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the idea that I could (and should) do it all. Early in my career, I took on every inquiry that came my way—newborns, seniors, corporate headshots, extended families at high noon in a city park, you name it, I shot it. I was hungry, driven, and determined to “make it,” even as seasoned photographers with a decade or more of experience gently warned me to niche down.
I didn’t listen. For a while, I stood staunchly on the idea that more sessions meant more success. But all it really meant was burnout and blurred vision. I was spread too thin, and my work suffered because of it.
Now, I’m probably one of the biggest advocates for niching down. Focusing on adventure-driven couples, luxury elopements, and fine art motherhood work has allowed me to go deeper, not just in skill, but in client experience. I can now pour my energy into refining the details that matter most to my clients. I know what I’m great at, and I’ve made space to be really great at it.
The truth is, saying “no” is powerful. It creates demand. It builds clarity. It protects your time and your artistry. A photographer for everyone is often a photographer for no one, and learning to protect my brand and bandwidth has changed everything

Have you ever had to pivot?
I’m actually in the middle of a major pivot right now—one that’s both exciting and challenging. Over the past few months, I’ve invested heavily in a professional rebrand and a full website redesign. My goal is to elevate my digital presence so it truly reflects the level of personalized service and luxury experience I provide my clients. I want future couples to get a real glimpse of what it feels like to work with me before we even meet.
At the same time, I’m preparing for a big move—almost clear across the country, and it’s actually the second time I’ve relocated within just two years. This move has demanded a lot of planning beyond just packing boxes: logistics for the move itself, integrating into a new community, rebuilding my creative and vendor networks, and forging new friendships.
But this pivot isn’t just about geography or visuals—it’s about growth. I’m ready to take my business to the next level, expand my reach, and deepen the experiences I offer. It’s both exhilarating and a little scary, but it reminds me that evolution is necessary to honor the vision and calling I believe God has placed on my life and work.
