We recently connected with Savannah Jost and have shared our conversation below.
Savannah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
It depends on how one defines their opinion on success. I think success is about perception and lot of peoples definition of success is heavily influenced by the comparison of others and their achievements. For me, I am already successful in the sense that I’ve built my own business from scratch while positively impacted so many lives in the process. I think being confident in your ability to achieve your goals and remaining optimistic even in the mist of failures and setbacks is important for ones success. Being able to have the mental fortitude to persevere through adversity is something i have learned to be invaluable in this business.
While entrepreneurship can be a scary roller coaster, the highs most definitely make up for the lows. I think the most important marker for success is prioritizing your happiness. While most people believe success will bring them happiness, i think happiness is what brings you true success.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Savannah Jost. I am currently an Austin Texas resident but spent my entire childhood as a military child traveling the world. I ended up at Texas State University to pursue higher education. I received both my Bachelors’s and Masters’s degrees in Social Work and had planned to enter the field as a caseworker for veterans and children. It was during undergrad that I realized I was passionate not only about cooking food but the act of assisting others reach their full potential and goals through nutritional food service. What started out as a hobby, quickly turned into a promising career. I was overwhelmed with the support and positivity I received, which in return gave me the confidence to take a risk and pursue my passion full-time.
I provide nutritious and customizable meal preps that not only benefit your health but your wallet, with affordability being one of my core values. I strive to create meals that are visually appealing and encourage you to WANT to eat healthy while also providing the convenience of having a home-cooked meal to come home to. My service provides meals that save you time and money and most importantly support one’s fitness goals and/or health accommodations.
What sets me apart is my customer service, the needs and wants of my clients are my top priority. Every single meal that I provide is made solely by me. I run my entire business independently and believe my work speaks for itself. There is no corporate standard, I set the standard and the bar is set high. I ensure every meal ordered is prepared and delivered with the utmost care and attention to detail.
I am so grateful for my customers and those who support me, because of my community I have been able to support myself by doing something I love with ambitions to expand in the future.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think your reputation is defined by your actions and what others say/think about you. Your overall character represents your brand so I think is important to be trustworthy and relatable. I care deeply about every client’s interaction and know that their opinions are not based solely on my provided produced but more so on the transactional aspect of it. I ensure that every interaction is a positive one and I try to develop meaningful relationships with every single client.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
One of the key attributes to my successful client base is my community. From the very start of my career, I’ve had the utmost support from my peers, family, and friends. Word of mouth and referrals from those who know me and love my business has been the true pillars of my success. I also put a lot of thyme and energy into my online presence through constantly publishing new content and actively engaging, such as posting pictures and updates daily on all my social media platforms. I encourage my current clients to share their personal experiences and in a sense advertise for me, in return, I offer several incentives such as discounts, free meals, and delivery.
While I do offer incentives for referrals, I have found that the majority of my customers aren’t seeking anything in return and just want to support me. I have been extremely blessed and will forever be grateful to those who want to see me succeed.
