We recently connected with Savannah Jones and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Savannah , thanks for joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
The best thing that we have done as a company is to show how much we appreciate our clients/customers is treating them! My administrative assistant and myself created a “Galentines Event” to our clients, and a touch of appreciation we did for them as a thank you, was a complimentary mani and/or pedi from a local vendor along with drinks and snacks! Not only did we show true love and appreciation and giving them a thank you for being our client; we also got to spotlight our other vendors (small businesses) as well.

Savannah , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Savannah, and I am the owner and lead designer at my company, Where the Heart Is. We specialize in Home Staging & Interior Design. To be where I am now, was always a dream that seemed so far out of reach. The growth, the team, the client relationships, the entire journey itself; it is unreal at times. I will have to actually grasp this reality that I have worked so hard to create, truly, it is amazing.
Let me back up a little bit though. I started WTHI in 2018. I was a new mom, newly unemployed, and determined to follow my passions. It started small, I worked for friends, family, and often for free just to be able to obtain the experience. I look back now at those early “designs” and laugh. My skill has definitely advanced to say the least. Design has always been my hobby, passion, and desire; but I often felt disheartened by those who would say “never make your hobby your career” or “you can’t make a living just decorating houses”. Once I stopped listening to the nay-sayers and started to focus on what I wanted, the growth was astounding.
It wasn’t until I was really starting to invest money back into my business and focus on community outreach taht I started seeing organic and wonderful growth. I realized me, as one person, would not be able to do it alone, so I started the inevitable “hiring process” every small business goes through. I am happy to say that I now have an undeniably amazing team of ladies working with me, with an administrative coordinator, two designers, and a budding intern, it feels like some days we are simply unstoppable. I know that had I not taken that leap into hiring help, I would have never seen the growth like I have.
Community is and will always be so important to our core values at Where the Heart Is. Clients, family, friends, they are what keep us going, a driving force in our company. We love to sponsor local businesses, participate in vendor events, and host fun gatherings for our clients and their friends.
Our slogan is “beautiful, functional, and affordable” because that is what we offer. A magazine worthy home within your customized budget. WE believe everyone should have their “dream home” and it shouldn’t cost you your life savings. My team of designers and I work hard to find the perfect pieces for our client’s homes that offer them functionality and style. Our design process is 100% customizable to them. That is what sets us apart from the rest, we don’t try to fit our clients into a box, we build a new one and paint it red.
In our interior design process, we offer a complimentary initial consult, a free online style quiz, custom mood boards, and a custom shopping list. Clients love that they can understand their style and receive a great visual from us that represents that.
For our home staging clients, we love to work hand in hand with the real estate world. We understand that the ultimate goal is to get a home sold as quickly as possible and for the most amount of money. We don’t sway from that belief no matter what the market is doing. Our designs make potential buyers feel as if they are home, and that is a service nothing can compare to. We often teach classes at real estate offices to help inform agents of the benefits of home staging, this has been an extremely positive and rewarding process.
Fast forward to now- our growth in inclining every day, our team is getting better and becoming even more knowledgeable, and our client portfolio is at a all time high. We have so many exciting things happening this year. Some things that cant quite be announced yet, and some that are still in the works. Regardless, you haven’t seen the best of Where the Heart is yet. WE encourage all of our readers to follow us on social media and stay tuned for our big reveals in 2022.

“Your dream home is waiting for you”
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Marketing on our social media, showing the work we do, along with the fun we have with clients; whether it be, a client shopping day or having fun with my team on staging day. To become personable and show that while we do work, we have fun and love doing so!
Also doing real estate office presentations and being involved in the community for vendor events or fundraisers. You never know who you can meet at these great opportunities

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Growing our clientele has been a favorite of ours just because we get to meet so many new and different people from all over the DFW area. Whether they are a small business themselves, or just a family, or single, we relate to them in some way and can get their dream home done
