We were lucky to catch up with Saudia Moore recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Saudia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
After earning my degree, I produced my own style and fashion event sponsored by 3 of my favorite retailers and moved into a lot of behind-the-scenes work with various other DFW fashion shows and live productions from styling on set, to media relations, to covering events. Around that time, I had also begun work as a Visual Stylist for Nordstrom.
During these experiences, I had gained so much knowledge on how to use decor, lighting, props, style, and trends for advertising or entertainment and was captivated by the art of visual styling, but wanted more creative freedom on my own and more meaningful projects.
I had begun taking on a few freelance projects on my own which allowed me to help boutique owners in the direction of their interior decor and strategic set-up so that their atmosphere could be more effective in generating profit. I also executed the creative direction of photo and product styling within my own jewelry company. I continued to work, but also pursued my own projects.
I knew that the knowledge of visual styling and brand presentation is a much needed art form in so many businesses which is why is has been so major to me. This path isn’t linear or restrictive, so that flexibility is what I know I need in order to see success.

Saudia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The seed for my interest in visual styling, decor, and brand presentation was planted so long ago. I have always loved the way things are put together, decorated, and advertised. It was common to thumb through any style and decor books or magazines that I saw, trying to mimick those moments in real life.
I can recall becoming fascinated in middle school when I was in a class that had a segment showcasing how advertisements and magazines are styled, and how props are used. So my love for styling and the business of it began to blossom.
While in the profession of visual styling after earning my degree, I’ve had my hand in the production and behind-the-scenes work of different DFW fashion shows.
I own a company called “The Style Innovator” which focuses on Visual Styling and Brand Presentation.
I provide Interior Decor, Product and Ad Styling, Set Design, Shop/Pop-Up Shop Design, and Decorative Props.
I help clients captivate their target audience and increase their traffic
and profits by implementing the “silent salesmanship” that visual aesthetics can provide.
What is unique about me is that I view the creative process with a holistic strategy. I implement strategies of ambiance, design, color, and innovation.
I’d say I am most proud of the versatility in my work. My creative portfolio shows interior decor, photo styling, product campaigns, storefronts, and shop design.
I would want people or potential clients to know that The Style Innovator focuses on Visual Styling and Brand Presentation. My main focus is to use my innovative competency to enhance your brand’s first and lasting impression. Also, though I provide interior decor services, the company is not interior design, which is very different from what I do.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
There are so many resources that are available to creative professionals that I wish were more accessible when I first walked into this path as a professional. For one, social media was not as advanced and designed for promoting business as it is now. Also, studio access, networking groups, and independent professionals who provide simple a la carte legal services such as advice and guidance on creating effective contracts.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative professional is seeing an idea come into fruition and actually be effective, even in spite of all of the obstacles, setbacks, and shortcomings.
