We recently connected with Sauce Samurai and have shared our conversation below.
Sauce, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
As of now I make a living of my music royalties , beats sales, mix and master and owning and operating my own recording studio. So 2015 I was working at Guitar Center as a Pro Audio Associate in sales. At the time I was going to the studio recording every night till 7 am going to take a nap and clocking in at 9am. I did that for 2 years from pure passion I would get my checks and spend it on pro audio equipment and performance slots. I would drive to Austin and Atlanta for SXSW and AC3 wit no second guess because I knew that’s what I wanted to do. 2015 I quit my job after talking to my good friends Jrag2x and Iceman Chamberlain. They said ” Man you want to be the best you gotta jump down all the way ain’t no half steppin” So I did & I struggle recording for hours on end making beats till sunrise giving it my all. There was a point in time where I would go to the hotel across the street from the studio buy some new clothes take a shower & get back to it. A Major milestones was the first time I went to Youtube and saw a Sauce Samurai type beat because imitation is the highest form of flattery new thing I know music with me and Sauce Walka drop and I get my first million views. Then with Sosamann after that people start buying my beats for 300 then 500 the 1,500. I was so grateful and still am that people saw my worth in my talent, a kid from Southside of Houston with a laptop full of cracked plugins can be a millionaire off his emotions and passion. I feel like if i would had realized how cutthroat the music industry is early on I would have raised in the ranks faster but we live and we learned and my story isn’t done yet.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
The best thing that people can do to support artist and creatives is just that!!! Support!! Repost , share , like , comment and subscribe who knows your small free gesture of interaction might be the small push some artist need to keep going and keep creating. I know we live in a capitalisms world where its all about money but the simple things matter to some one creating. Remember art is fueled by emotion which in term feeds creativity society plays a major role in creating the Michael Jacksons the Dr. Dre’s the Lady Gaga’s do your part and support you don’t know how much it means to us.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media Is tricky you have to post everyday but switch it up don’t saturate in with the same things. I feel like the best advice I can give someone is to be themselves and let people see that. Individualism is at the core of any great social media Icon keep that in mind. Also early on its important to follow back, you show love , you get love its that easy. Lastly pop out , be places make sure people make the connection with your face and your social media account.
