We recently connected with Sauce and have shared our conversation below.
Sauce, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Mission is defined as “a important assignment carried out”. In life we can have more than one very important assignment and the goal is to complete them. Myself I want to enhance the life of fashion and the people that wears it. To be the best fashionable version of myself, and secondly most importantly I want to make CHOICES a movement like never before. Assignments.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Blessings everyone, my name is Sauce. I am a model from Saint Louis and the CEO and Founder of CHOICES Nonprofit organization. Here to tell you a little about myself and how I got into modeling and my Nonprofit organization. Ive always been fond of fashion wear and I let my confidence walk for me. I could literally spend money after money on clothes, and shoes, and fun fact I have a sock fetus. The clothes are one thing, but how you look, how you feel, how it fit, how it wears you, how you wear it is another thing and its that piece of fashion wear thats creating that feel. I love the clothes but I also love to see what I look like in the clothes. What you give to a picture, the picture will give back to you. To me I feel you should become that content inside so that the context outside will project. Thats the challenging part but you get to see the different creations. Images created by what could be many various context frozen to enhance the subject’s reverence. Now days you can be creative enough to do alot from scratch. Which is what alot of people do. Everyone may not been given a “way”, some feel it maybe easier, whichever the reason could be so you create your own. I didn’t have a photographer for any of my pictures. I got on Amazon and ordered essentials that could help me with my own picture taking. I ordered timers, stands, lights and more. You have to do the research, its part of the homework especially when you’re starting from scratch. So I turned my living room into a photographer studio. I spent day in and day out taking my own pictures, guiding myself to move here, to move there, reviewing photos, checking posing and more. It definitely was a alot of work because me starting from scratch I was every position. I was a model, a director, a photographer and a tired soul, but being in each position gave me a outlook of understanding in those different areas. That was my scratch experience the next person’s could be different, they may have a photographer, some may have a studio they can use. Everyone’s story is different even if we’re writing in the same book. So after I accumulated a desired amount photos I started doing more research were to submit, who to submit to, how to submit. After doing research and submissions I was selected by StudModelProject of Atl by Teresa Morcho and RDB Exclusive of Florida by Tiara Crutch better known as Ms. Béquille. Knowledge that is gained to pave your road will show how far you can go on it. I have the upmost gratitude to both Ms. Béquille and Teresa Morcho. Both have taken me under their wings and given me guidance and opportunities. I started modeling back in October of 2021 with Teresa. From there she’s guided me, challenged me photoshoot after photoshoot each becoming more challenging. Teresa focused on alot of different areas but mainly editorial photography with me. I really enjoy editorials and what it takes to fulfill that content. I remember one particular photoshoot in NY, I could barely walk the next morning. The depths of how sore I was from doing the editorial poses man I had no idea they rose like that. Model down, model downn. It was just a few days but still I had no idea. I do now along with many more things. I’m nowhere I used to be when I first started. Within four months into modeling I was had my first publishing. Being more comfortable with myself I started doing fashion shows. Lights camera action everywhere. This is like the belly of Fashion. You get to meet and network with so many people, everyone comes out its super crowded, and of course the Designers! Nearly every Designer I’ve modeled for I love their clothing! Love it! I have a favorite piece right now from Designer YESDNILCO. Fashion Shows are everything you imagine it to be. The freely walk of confidence. This is how I was introduced to Ms.Béquille and the RDB Exclusive team. It was a RDB Exclusive Fashion Show. This team has been a dream come true. From guidance, opportunities, experiences, wonderful team and more. I have had both traveling opportunities with both RDB Exclusive and StudModelProject and plan to continue to traveling more in my modeling career. As a model I want to enhance the life of fashion and those who wears it, to be the best fashionable version of myself.
Modeling is what I do and love but my passion and purpose is my Nonprofit Organization CHOICES. The purpose of CHOICES is to bring defined love and support to people in need. Empowering the acts of morals brought together to deliver the exigencies across the world. The black in the logo of CHOICES stands for unity. I’ve always been raised and believe that help has no color to it, so the black represents unification. Any age, any race, any individual we become one stand of a thousand hands. Helping supply needs from babies to elders. Alot of people have asked me where I get this idea from. Honestly its our people in need. We see them everyday and it hurts to see that we don’t see or pretend to not. Everyday you step outside, everywhere you go, even within our own families and friends. There’s someone in need of help. What sat the heaviest on my heart was the elders and seeing families on the street. I remember a hot day in the summer riding in the passenger seat leaving from getting something to eat when my eyes laid on this elder woman walking with bags, not light bags. She was in all white, with what looked like a white nurses uniform with her white hat, white shoes, and white socks. Much older lady looking and walking like she just completed a long shift and on top of that walking so she can feed herself. You could see that her feet were hurting her. I be wanting to stop and offer a ride but I don’t want to alarm anyone especially an elder and they probably wouldn’t trust it no way honestly. She looked exhausted but she was still going. To this day I wish I knew who the lady was. I would like to have more travel resources available to all and with CHOICES I plan to. I can not speak for what may have happened between family and friends but I know no one of that age should be walking. Thats someone mother; grandmother, daughter, niece, cousin, she’s somebody to someone and even if she had no family at all it still broke me to see it. The same people that took a part in raising you, my grannies are no longer here but they definitely took parts in raising my sister and I, and I just couldn’t image the hands that has loved me being out here in these streets without help. No I don’t know what people have done to get on the streets but I know no family should have to endure that, these children, the parents no one should have to endure just being on the streets no help. I also wanna create homes for those without homes or end up in need of a home, situations happens and call it “LessOfHomes”. Homeless always hit me differently. I just wish we had more help. With CHOICES I plan to make a movement like never before. Take it step by step and go off guidelines but whenever in need of extra help I have God’s line. With GOD as my partner and whom I do it for, I have the very key to make it happen. No puzzle is completed without all pieces. Our lives can be the very same ways. Each piece, each stop in life is necessary that we encounters. You may not understand one stop in life, why you’re here, how you get here, just like you may not find where a piece goes together until you gather the other pieces. You understand after you go through you see why it was needed it, same as with the puzzle you won’t understand until you see the other misshape or distinctive look and realize why that piece goes there. You have now placed that piece where it belongs, and you’ve gotten to the place in life were you belong. The road I’m paving, I don’t know how long I will be walking, and even if my compass breaks, my faith in my coordinates won’t I will get there. -Sauce
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The best rewarding part I would have to say the actual achievement of my assignments. The action or process of finishing something. Things are done at its own time and pace no matter how fast you want it and you just never know how long your walk can be. Rewarding would be to complete my modeling and Nonprofit. I want to get to certain places with both and to do so with many obstacles both faces that will be the most rewarding. If I complete then that means I have fought for a change that I changed. If I complete what would it mean to be one of the ones thought of when it comes to modeling. If I complete what would it mean to be able to help our people, God’s people. I’m just becoming the best fashionable version of myself, I’m just the servant thats rewarding enough for me.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I wouldn’t change Fashion, it’s great all on its own. I just want to be my best of Fashion. As far as CHOICES, everyone needs a little helping, loving and you know I’m quite the humanitarian .
