We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sau-Sha Hill. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sau-Sha below.
Sau-Sha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
When I first started pursuing my dream of becoming a content writer, I was excited but uncertain. I had always enjoyed writing, but I wasn’t sure if I had what it took to make it as a professional. Then, as I began to build my portfolio and search for clients, I faced many rejections and setbacks. It was discouraging, and I wondered if I should give up and get a regular job.
I was ready to throw in the towel and abandon my dream altogether. But then I remembered why I started this journey in the first place. I loved writing and wanted to share my voice with the world. But, I also knew that building a successful business would take time and effort.
So, I decided to take a break and reflect on my progress. I realized I had made more progress than I had given myself credit for. I have completed many projects and received positive feedback from clients. I also had a supportive network of friends and mentors who believed in me.
With this new perspective, I returned to my work with Purpose and determination. I brainstormed new ideas and took risks with my writing. Over time, I found my groove and began building a successful content writer career.
Looking back, I realized that the doubts and setbacks I faced were a natural part of the journey. The key was to stay committed to my goals and seek support when needed. Today, I am proud of my business and grateful for the lessons I learned.
Sau-Sha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Recently, I had a client who needed an email series for her new product launch. She had a low open rate and was overwhelmed with crafting compelling emails that would engage her audience and ultimately drive sales. That’s where I came in.
After discussing her brand, target audience, and overall goals for the launch, I got to work on crafting a series of emails that would capture her subscribers’ attention and build excitement around her new product.
Throughout the process, I kept the client updated on my progress and welcomed her feedback at every stage. I wanted to ensure that her vision was reflected in every email and that she was happy with the result.
In the end, the email series was a success. The client received positive feedback from her subscribers, and the product launch was a hit. It was rewarding to see my writing help my client achieve her business goals and that my work made a difference in her success.
Working on this project reinforced my love for helping businesses connect with their audience through the power of words. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with clients like this and see how my writing can impact their success.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about selling platforms like Amazon/Etsy vs selling on your own site.
I currently use Etsy as my platform to sell my digital products. I chose Etsy because it is a well-established marketplace with a large audience of buyers specifically looking for handmade or unique items. Additionally, Etsy takes care of the technical aspects of selling, such as payment processing and order management, which allows me to focus on creating and promoting my products.
One of the main pros of using Etsy is the ease of use. It is a user-friendly platform allowing me to list my products and manage my shop easily. Another benefit is the built-in traffic that Etsy provides. With millions of active buyers on the platform, I have the potential to reach a larger audience than I might not be able to on my own website.
However, there are also some cons to using Etsy. One of the biggest downsides is the fees. Etsy charges a transaction fee on every sale and fees for listing and advertising. This can add up quickly, especially for high-volume sellers. Additionally, using a third-party platform means I have less control over the customer experience, such as checkout and email communications.
Overall, I am satisfied with using Etsy as my selling platform. While there are some drawbacks, the platform’s benefits, such as the built-in audience and ease of use, make it a valuable tool for my business.
