Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sasha Izum. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sasha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
In my profession, as a personal stylist, I want my clients to find themselves through their style, learn to express themselves through style and communicate non-verbally with other people. I am for an adequate and psychologically healthy approach to working with style. I am always on the side of the client, not trends.
Sasha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
In fact, it all started when I was a child, when I was about ten years old, I really loved to remake my grandmother’s bedsheets into fashionable dresses and hold fashion shows at home for the whole family. It was fun, haha. I also dressed up my younger sister and brother. I loved to go to vintage stores, find something unusual there and remake it to fit my style. Once I dressed up so much that teacher for my school even asked left me out so that I could change, but I never did. When I finished school, my parents insisted that I go to medical college. They really wanted me to become a doctor. Of course, I graduated from college entered the university, but after several years of study and parallel work in the hospital, I realized that I didn’t like it. I was drawn to fashion. And then one of the boring working days, I received a message from a modeling agency with an invitation to a casting. I was very excited. So I started working as a model in Ukraine. after a couple of months, I flew away to work as a model for four years in China. Today I have been working in the modeling business for about six years.
In 2019, my husband and I were in a car accident and my collarbones broke. Fortunately, my husband did not bring it. I had a compressor installed on a titanium plate (haven’t removed it yet) and put a plaster cast on for one month – this is a carryover that I can’t do modeling any time soon. Of course, this unsettled me and I was completely depressed. But fashion still fascinated me. So during this time, I have the opportunity to spend a lot of time on the Internet and came across an advertisement for a professional stylist.
The thought “here it is, what you need” immediately slipped into my head. I decided to try. I completed a personal stylist course watched hundred of fashion and style videos. At first, I trained on my friends and mother. I was fascinated by this lesson. After some time, my friends began to recommend me to their other friends, and so I got my first clients. I am constantly learning and working with clients at the same time. I fell in love with my work. I like to reveal the individuality of each girl through clothes and style. Someone new style helped to find the love of their life, someone get a job or get a new position, someone to increase self-esteem.
I provide such services as: analysis of the wardrobe (the key task of this service is the analysis of the correspondence of the wardrobe to your lifestyle, body type, mood, etc.); shopping support; compilation of several or one outfit (wedding, party etc.); consultation; subscription for a month; collecting a suitcase (on a business trip, on vacation or somewhere else. This service will help you take only the things you need on a trip without overweight); shopping excursion (a 3-hour comfortable walk around the shopping center, together we look at things and determine what to pay attention to and what is better not to buy); capsule (creating collages with outfits).
I call myself a stylist-minimalist because I believe that even from the minimum number of clothes, you can create a large number of stylish outfits. I’m all for keeping your wardrobes from bursting with tons of identical clone clothes that you don’t wear. I am for your clothes to work for you and bring you pleasure. What else do we dress for?
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Two of the best ways to find clients in my field is to regularly instagram and show your activity there, share useful tips and the second is, of course, to do your job well. So, satisfied customers recommend me to their acquaintances, friends, etc.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have been running my instagram account for a very long time, and my followers came from different sources: hashtags, other people’s marks, collaborations, mutual PR, posting reels, paid advertising
